As Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie visits #Jets & #Giants this weekend, a look at the real deal he turned down in Denver http://t.co/KSd804AzNy
Me too, he hasn't scheduled visits as far as I know. Probably biding our time waiting to see what the DRC deal is.
So he turned down a 3 year #24M contract, but some people think he is going to come here for $6.5M or $7M per?
Give him 8.5 and cut Sanchez. That's more than the Broncos offer. Fact is we are desperate at corner and can't afford to let him go to the Giants.
We are probably gonna end up paying him closer to 10 mill then to 8 mill. Its no longer about value but about its either him or 3rd tier guys. Depending on if he is looking for a long term or short term will be the main factor.
I wonder if Antonio will help us out by talking to his cousin, I know he still loves the Jets so hopefully he can help us get a deal done. DRC is a phenomenal man cover corner and at times can be a shutdown corner. Either way I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting today lol.
You know what i agree cro would come back for less then that. I also think if they thought Cro was worth that he would be back here already. After last seasons performance, the injury to the hip he broke early in his career im not so sure they wanted him bck as anything more then a locker room mentor. Drc's last year performance makes him a higher value then Cros last year performance.
Cromartie is an excellent corner but having that hip injury not only screwed up last season but could potentially hinder him for many years to come. Having a hip issue is a HUGE problem as a corner. If this injury plagues him for a while, he could be in trouble which would make signing him a bad investment. Sign DRC and if Cro comes back cheap, give him a deal.
Exactly, they know they will suck for sometime after Manning retires. Unless they can get Mark Sanchez then they will be set for a long time.
That's not the answer. What happens if he shows up for his physical, passes, and then three weeks into the season hurts it again considering it has already been injured once? Not worth it in my opinion unless it's cheap, which is exactly why I think Idzik hasn't brought him back yet
I have a question: How much better is Rodgers-Cromartie than Cromartie? I don't know much about DRC. I never thought he was a top CB. Is he a big upgrade?
Yes/No Not that simple if you compare 2012 cro to 2013 drc they are very much the same corner. As far as 2013 vs 2013 DRC was a far superior corner but cro was injured most the season.
Yes, at this stage in both their careers, DRC is a better corner. He's younger and is excellent in man to man. Now, Cro had an awesome year two years ago, but has been dealing with a bad hip injury. We all know hip injuries are terrible with corners considering they use their hips to cover. The question is, which will be a better answer long term? I think that answer is DRC. Younger and not dealing with a potential repeat injury.
