According to PFT from article this afternoon:
    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/09/jets-are-keeping-door-open-for-cromartie-for-now/

Does that mean they believe the Jets have Verner locked up.

Jason Campbell is dreadful. Why do people want him?

Luckily, Idzik seem like a really smart guy so I think he'll stay far away from Campbell.

I'd rather have Vick than Campbell. Neither is a long-term, reliable, solution, but there's way more upside with Vick.

With Vick, despite knowing Morningweig, its two completely different systems for Geno and Vick.

The offense would have NO rhythm if Geno goes down.

    Do not want Vick.

Schaub is a better fit and I dislike him.

Can you explain how or why their would be two completely different systems for the two QB's?

Campbell has had some pretty good games. He got us pretty good when we played the Raiders back in 2011. Dependable, and he's not injury prone like Vick. Would prob be cheaper then Vick too

agreed. I would take Campbell over Vick simply for the fact that he will be cheaper and doesn't have injury problems every season.

It does seem that way. The Jets were also said to have been in contact with him prior to the Cromartie cut and subsequent tweet.

I think your right. I have come 180 degrees on this in the last few hours. All signs point to Verner being locked up by the Jets.

I did not know about his post about not visiting anywhere. That is very good to hear. Thanks for posting that. :) Playing for Rex must be a dream job for a top CB.

My instincts as a Jet fan for 40+ years is anything can go wrong. I just hope no one gets to Verner in the the next day and offers him more. I can't wait for 4pm Tuesday to arrive.

With Cro gone that means we are definitely going to be buying in the FA market. My money is on Verner.

They also apparently have the hots for Bradley Roby... We will see...

Seems he deleted the tweet. Interesting. Here is a recap of what a sports writer tweeted when it happened:

"For now, free agent CB Alterraun Verner is not planning any visits. Source says he'll likely sign shortly after market opens on Tuesday. "

seems like we are obviously out of the byrd sweepstakes then, but signing verner (if it happens) is definitely a plus

Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if TJ Ward is still in play.

Although, it wouldn't surprise me if we signed both Byrd and Verner.

Byrd, Verner, Sanders, and Asamoah would be a good grab in FA.

A lot of solid safeties in the draft. I'm not worried.

The chances of us drafting a starting safety is somewhere around None, I'm afraid.

Unless Idzik completely ignores how we've adressed the position in the recent past.
