I think it's safe to say we are not getting Nicks lol He has said that he wants to play with Cam Newton, Philip Rivers, or Andrew Luck. Scratch him off the list.
Every wide receiver *wants* to play with Newton, Rivers or Luck. It comes to which offer he prefers (and if he gets an offer.) I wouldn't overlook him just yet; money speaks louder than being the "missing link," though I wouldn't want to give Nicks any more than a 1-year "show me" deal.

I'd jizz in my pants if that happened, but signing both Byrd AND Verner? No way we pay that and tie up that much money in the secondary again, IMO. I think it could be either or, now that Cro is cut.
@MMehtaNYDN: Two interesting & somewhat surprising names on Jets Persons of Interest list: 49ers S Donte Whitner & Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew #nyj For me personally I would love both of these guys. MJD has always been one of my favorites and I believe he still has 2-3 good years behind a good o-line. Ivory and Powell to me are each good #2 backs and it seems like the jets think the same with interest in numerous backs. As for Whitner as long as we don't overpay he'd be an upgrade.

No I just think it depends on when their roster bonus is due or if they need the $$$ in FA. As of now they have 30 mil plus in cash so it doesn't have to be done asap. That being said I hope they do it asap!
Hawkins or Jones-Drew would bring back what the Jets have been missing for 2 seasons - pass catching in the backfield. I know Hawk is a WR but they used him to catch passes in the flat in Cinci.
Great news. He'd be a far less expensive option, which would be essential if in fact they do dish out $8M plus per year to Verner
Nice list. From there my ideal signings would be G Jon Asamoah or G Geoff Schwartz, WR Emmanuel Sanders, QB Matt Schaub and CB Alterraun Verner (or Cromartie). Add FS Chris Clemons to that list as well
