Milliner will be good. Wilson has been coming along well too. Cro is gonna get cut and maybe resigned for cheap.

I'd say these are the top four options as I see it too. Hopefully they can get one of those guys.

If not, I might consider someone like Sidney Rice or Kenny Britt on a minimal one-year deal or Andre Roberts, Jerome Simpson (who apparently had a nice season by PFF's standards) or Brandon LaFell who could compete and add depth and then go WR in the 1st and again in the 2nd or 3rd. Could probably make it out of the draft with Marquise Lee / Brandin Cooks in the 1st and Davante Adams / Allen Robinson / Jarvis Landry in the 2nd

I know he did. I'm just saying we don't know with any certainty he'll keep developing. Wilson is average at best. Also, i said i think dee WILL still be here.

Where do you see that comparison? I didn't really watch any Chiefs games so I can't judge. All I know is we need a guard and he's supposed to be good.

He said "i feel like only dee will still be with us in 2 years or so." not "i feel like dee will be with us only 2 years or so." I had to read it twice.

But yea Verner would be a great signing. But the question is would you rather have him or Byrd if they're both asking for say 9 mil a year?

From everything I am reading, Verner is an option only if they can't restructure Cromartie. I am almost 100% they can so I would consider Verner out at this point.

The only option is to cut Cromartie and then try to re-sign him...he's due a 5 million dollar bonus soon.

Sam Shields just signed a deal for 4 years 39 million so if we want Verner, it's going to cost that if not more since Verner has played every game since being drafted.

The Rams are in play for Verner, makes sense with his ties to Jeff Fisher.

SOrry my bad read it wrong!!!…. to me, and this was my thing with revise…. you can always throw the ball away from a good corner.. a safety can make a impact in the run game and passing game… byrd makes plays…but id be happy with verner also he's only 25

With all the Jets needs on the offensive side of the ball, it would be insane to spend $10 million a year for a CB. Been there done that in spades for the past 5 years and it is not the way to build a championship team. If Vernerr is goingb to command $8 million plus, there is no way the Jets should pay that. Just restructure Cromartie down to $5-6 million per. Or go with cheaper options.

I think priority has to be resigning A Howard and signing a starting calibre OG, and one WR. Verner would be nice, Cro will come back on the cheap, I wouldn't be pissed if they signed Verner. But offense has to be taken care of.

i want verner on our D so bad, fits everything and very young its a good fit and we would also have room for maybe signing sanders and drafting a WR 1st round

Well Rex's style of defense puts a lot of pressure on the corners, cause they're forced to play man to man over 80% of the time. You saw what happened to our defense last year when the secondary wasn't playing well. We were just giving up long play after long play all season.

So unless we're gonna find these guys through the draft, we might just have to pay a fa corner like Verner. (I think everyone would flip their shit if we drafted another corner in the first round!)

I mean if you're willing to give cro 6 million a year then why not pay Verner 9 million a year? He's the MUCH better option at this point, Cro may never return to form after all the injuries.

Cutting Cro frees 9.5 mil of cap space. If you can get Verner for 9.5 mil or less, get him and cut Cro.

Can't trust him anymore with his bad hip.

Though if Cro agrees to cut his base salary to nearly zero, and just take the roster bonus, we could use the base salary towards Austin Howard's first year. That might be worth it over cutting Cro and trying to sign Verner and Howard

I don't think anyone would give him any other type of deal so I don't really believe he has much of a choice.
    SIGN THIS BEAST!

After that, cut Cro & sign Verner & Byrd add a vet like Sanders and build the rest of our offense through the draft.

It makes sense. If he doesn't fit with the team, he can just move a few yards again.
