And the DROY who we got for him. It would be incredible if the reunion happens. I doubt it though. But, with Verner signing elsewhere and the Jets need for a vet CB pretty obvious, they have to it least look into it.
Sure he could have helped but so can players like Tarell Brown or Munerlyn or Chris Cook who are still available and can be had for cheap. Antonio Cromartie is still available as well if worst comes to worst.
You can bet your ass they are. Rex would shit himself to have Revis back. Idzik has all the money in the world right now and Revis knows Rex's system. Pay the man!!
I have a hard time believing we'd lose out on Verner/Davis/Byrd without something pretty major going on... Maybe Revis is the plan they have, I just hope we don't lose out on every cb waiting for this Revis thing to be resolved.
Some were saying Verner is more of a zone corner than man-to-man and zone is what Lovie Smith is going to play in Tampa. Maybe Verner wasn't destined for us. Question now is do the Pats go after Revis?
Instead of kissing Idzik's ass for a thorough and professional approach to free agency some of you are shitting all over him. Great GMs do just that. GB, SF, Seattle. They wait and strike when the deal has value and benefits the team. They don't freaking overpay for marginal talent improvement just to fill a hole. When you do that you impact the rest of the team and creates a down spiral for those talented young players in the rooster. Having a large cap margin is never bad, and the way to go when you are trying to build a young team, balance the books and prepare yourself to extend long term large $$$ contracts to your rising superstars. People are talking bullshit about being sold down the river as if Idzik announced to the fan base his intentions to stock pile free agents. Not one name was ever leaked as a heavy target from the Jets brass. It was speculation and wisful thinking. Free agency is not over, just the first day of stupid overpaid investments by teams like Cleveland, Miami and the Raiders...all of which traditionally find themselves with nothing but personnel and cap problems year after year. I'm happy about the silence. I don't want to over pay for Howard or blow 10M on Davis and sure as hell I don't want to mortgage our future again with a greedy, me first CB like Davis. I'm looking for a handful of Chris Ivory's for now and best of the best during the draft.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I THINK WE ARE GOING AFTER REVIS! If Verner could be had at that amount, why wouldn't Idzik pull the trigger on him? I have a feeling Revis was the plan all along lol
