Andy down an early break already, 3-0.

I was thinking about this, it would have been great if Federer was 4-5 years young because

    a) It would put Nadal, Federer, Murray, Djoker all that the same age group and hitting their peak prime at the same time.
    b) Roddick would have won more titles
    c) I want to see how good Federer would have been because he started dominating in kind of a less talented era. Not to take away anything from him, his consistency was absolutely unmatched and ridiculous

Interesting scenario. One thing for sure, if it weren't for Federer, Roddick would've had 2 Wimbledon championships to add to his 1 U.S. Open title.

Yeah it's just a thought experiment of what if those 4 were in their prime together. Did they get the better of Federer after a while because Federer is 4-5 years old which is large in tennis years. Did Federer have his amazing streak because those guys were not in their primes and playing like this year.

You are right, Roddick gets more championships. Federer absolutely dominated him.

03 Wimbledon Semis, Roddick lost to Fed and Fed won in the final. Roddick could beat Phillapopous or however you spell that in the finals
04 Wimbledon Final, Roddick lost to Fed
05 Wimbledon Final, Roddick lost to Fed
06 US Open final, Roddick lost to Fed
07 Aus Open semis, Roddick lost to Fed and could have beaten Gonzalez in the final
09 Wimbledon final, Roddick lost to Fed excruciatingly. This was the one where Fed tried to be polite and said something like "I know how you feel. I lost last year in the final and it hurts, you'll be back" and Roddick interrupts him and quips "Yeah but you had 5 of these"

Also now that I looked that up:

    Federer:
    04 Wim winner
    04 Us Open winner
    AUS SF
    FRE SF
    WIM winner
    US winner
    AUS winner
    FRE finalist
    WIM winner
    US winner
    AUS winner
    FRE finalist
    WIM winner
    US winner
    AUS SF
    FRE finalist
    WIM finalist
    US winner
    AUS finalist
    FRE winner
    WIM winner
    US finalist
    2010 AUS winner

What a ridiculous streak over 5 years.

Halep was down 5-3 in the tiebreak, but won four straight points to take it.

    Going to a third set.

Maria had a win at each of the four majors.

Today was her fifth major, second FO.

Good for Maria. Once Serena got knocked out, it was her tournament.

Djoko - Rafa: going into Roland Garros, Nole looked like the slight favorite coming off his win over Rafa at Rome. But looking at Nadal's last two matches, especially his annihilation of Murray in the semis it looks like anyone's match. The heart wants Nadal, but the head is not 100% sure of him winning his 9th(!) French championship.

Shreikapova - Halap: my ears are still ringing….

in the futures market, Djokovic was the favorite... all the way up until the Djokovic/Nadal final happened. Then Nadal became the favorite.

I guess because he had such an easy time with Murray (Murray's worst surface, though) and Djokovic seemed to be struggling with an illness.
