Just remember that the Combine is like a track meet combined with a weightlifting competition combined with some agility, quickness and flexibility drills and a light physical and interviews. It's not about football at all. There's almost no football present at the event. Unless you consider throwing the ball around in a gym playing football. What it's good for is exposing the people who have been propped up by their college athletic department, with false measurements. It's good for (theoretically) exposing the stiffs who did well against weak competition. It's horrible at telling you who among the legitimate prospects are going to be best at playing NFL football. It may tell you who is going to be great occasionally, but those people were already considered that way going into it.
This...The combine should only reinforce what's been done on the field of play. In no way should it replace real game production in the evaluation process, which will always be the primary indicator.
Archer is kind of like Leon Washington was coming out of FSU. He's too small to take an NFL pounding but he definitely has some big play ability in him. He's got the problem that he hasn't returned many punts and the kick-off return is going the way of the dodo. A 4th to 6th round pick isn't unreasonable in terms of projecting where he might go. You'd have to plan to use him as a situational play maker because he's really small.
Leon ran a 4.42 compared to Dri at 4.26 Archer is not an every down back, but no way he lasts until the 6th. Most likely a late 3rd to 4th.
How about he shaved .02 more to that. Officially clocked at a 4.26. That a' boy Dri. wondered why those commentators sounded like they were having an orgasm when he ran the ball in that one play ( 31 second mark on video)
I've been talking up Archer for months. Saw him in acouple games & he is a baller.He was kent state's whole offense. Go routes from the slot or straight between thr tackles he did it all. The opposition couldn't stop him.He has elite game speed & is as tough as nails I think hed be perfect for the jets.make him the 3rd down back & let him compete for KR duties
If I had to put money down on who I thought the Jets would take, its Cooks. Our target was Tavon Austin last year who is somewhat similar to Cooks. He'd be a great fit in Martys offense.
I wouldn't read too much into that.Tayvon was a target bc he was far & away the best skill guy in that draft.In this draft he may not be a top 20 pick. Its hard to say if the jets go big or fast at WR.Perhaps both is the answer.Either way theyd have plenty of options in first few rounds. Fast wrs: Round 1 -Watkins -Lee -Beckham -Cooks Round 2-4 -Richardson -Landry(Not a burner, but Im including him at 5'11) -Herron -Huff Big WRs Round 1 -Evans -Benjamin -Ebron(including cause he could push a wr down to jets) Round 2-4 -Matthews -Adams -Montcrief -Robinson lots of options
I would be very happy if the Jets get any one of the following WRs: Evans, Beckham, Cooks, Lee, Adams, Landry or Matthews. If they could get two from among those plus Robinson, Moncrief, Herron, Huff, Street, L. Washington, B. Ellington, M. Davis, Hazel & TJ Jones I would be ecstatic.

Caught well and showed terrific vertical and broad jumps. Liked that he dove for a couple and made some nice adjustments when the ball was thrown poorly. Would be delighted if he fell our way...

Cooks is a much better receiver than Austin, not as explosive as Austin but close. Austin isn't a physical receiver, Cooks will fight for the rock. I've said this numerous times, Cooks is a young Santana Moss.
