what a compelling argument. I love the excuses for duke and I assume you predicted they'd lose in the 1st rd those years since you could see how flawed they were? Carolina has only played in 2 NITs, one in the awkward transition from Dean Smith eventually to Roy Williams and the other after winning a Nat'l title then losing a ton of guys early and having a ton of key injuries. I suggest you start paying attention to college basketball and maybe thumb through some history books the last 20 years about the greatness of duke basketball. and while you are at look up duke and sociology degree, Corey Maggette, Lance Thomas, etc...
Gonzaga is rated at the same elite level as Duke every season. Should they not be held at the same standards?
Duke is Annually ranked in the Pre-Season Top 10. So is Gonzaga. Duke is often given a 1 or 2 seed in all Bracket Projections, so is Gonzaga. In 2013 Gonzaga was a 1 Seed, Duke was a 2 Seed. Yer somehow, according to you: "duke is annually considered a FF contender, Gonzaga is not."
duke is expected to make the FF going into each season, Gonzaga is not. Gonzaga is not always in the top 10. preseason AP poll last 10 seasons: Gonzaga in top 10: 2015(2014-15 season): nope 2014: nope 2013: nope- not in top 20 2012: nope- not in top 20 2011: nope 2010: not ranked at all 2009: 10th 2008: nope 2007: not ranked at all 2006: 8th 2 times ranked in the preseason top 10, never higher than 8th. duke in same stretch: 2015: 4th 2014: 4th 2013: 8th 2012: 6th 2011: 1st 2010: 9th 2009: 8th 2008: not in top 10 2007: not in top 10 2006: 1st 2 times not ranked in top 10. Perception is not always reality.
Nice DOdge, Try again: In 2013 Gonzaga was a 1 Seed, Duke was a 2 Seed. Yer somehow, according to you: "duke is annually considered a FF contender, Gonzaga is not."
I like you Hackett but please don't call out others when you are wrong again. this was your quote: just admit you are wrong and move on.
and if you want to go by seeding: last 10 years: 2005: duke 1 seed, Gon 3 2006: duke 1, Gon 3 2007: duke 6, Gon 10 2008: duke 2, Gon 10 2009: duke 2, Gon 4 2010: duke 1, Gon 8 2011: duke 1, Gon 10 2012: duke 2, Gon 7 2013: duke 2, Gon 1 2014: duke 2, Gon 8 avg seed: duke 2 Gonzaga 6 only one time did Gonzaga have a 2 seed or better, only 1 time did duke NOT have a 2 seed or better can we stop w/ this silly argument please?
As soon as you stop throwing meaningless figures and answer the actual question: In 2013 Gonzaga was a 1 Seed, Duke was a 2 Seed. Yer somehow, according to you: "duke is annually considered a FF contender, Gonzaga is not."
This has to be a goof. you got me. congrats Hackett, I apologize for taking your posts on this seriously.
Absolutely not. You are entirely missing my point, and as usual, you are dodging the question by using tons of irrelevant information in attempt to shield the futility of your argument. Straight out of the junc playbook. Your quote" "duke is annually considered a FF contender, Gonzaga is not."
You were serious?????? look at that quote then look at the preseason rankings. show me where Gonzaga has been considered a FF contender not even annually but just the majority of time? your perceptions do not meet the reality of the situation.
And ANOTHER classic dodge by junc. You must have been one hell of a dodgeball player in gym class. Again.. YOUR quote : "duke is annually considered a FF contender, Gonzaga is not."
I love to learn but I love to learn the right things. I am not going to learn from someone seeing Gonzaga as a 1 seed one time in 10 years and saying that means they are annually a FF contender.
