I don't know that the Jets are worse than the Patriots at this point. The Patriots are looking pretty thin and they, like the Jets, have relied on opponent's gimmes for tight wins all season. I think the Pats are holding on for dear life at this point.
Hopefully this is the week when Coples catches fire and gets in Rothlesburgers face all day Sent from my wey aye phone using Tapatalk - now Free
If the Jets could be given a 4-5 record without having to play these next 4 games it would be tempting. Given our schedule its hard to argue we can be any better than 4-5 at the break. It is also easy to imagine 3-6. Certainly at the start of the year we would have taken 4-5 without question. I can't imagine us standing a chance against the Saints. The Bengals defense specifically pass defense is so good. NE will be a lot better than week 2 although they are beatable. This Pitt game is such a huge game as it can snowball in a good or bad direction the next 3 games. These type of winnable games are the games we simply cannot lose. Win enough of these type of games and confidence snowballs and we win more games we shouldn't win like last week.
I think that they are certainly better than the Steelers, so the argument that this week's game is a bigger challenge than next week's game strikes me as silly, which was my main point. As far as Jets versus Patriots goes, I agree that the Pats are not among the elite teams this year (Denver, New Orleans, Seattle), and are probably not as good as Indy or Kansas City, either, but point differential is usually a pretty good predictor of performance, and right now the Pats are far ahead of the Jets on that score. If Smith has another turnover-free game this week (or at least a +2 on TD versus INT differential) I would give the Jets a better chance against them, but the much higher probability of Smith making a crucial mistake than Brady making one still makes me give the Pats the edge at this point.
I have no idea what to expect. I'm just thinking low scoring thanks to Pitt's porous O-line, the Jets pass rush, and Pitt's D coordinator. Lots of wind, I hear. 20-16 Jets
I agree. Completely aside from any notions of momentum, this kind of game is precisely the kind that distinguishes this year from being a rebuilding one, or one where they actually have a shot at the playoffs. If this is to be more than a rebuilding year, it's this kind of game that is most important (if you want to win the SB, the next three games are probably more indicative of your chances). By the way, I said the exact same thing before the Tennessee game, and the Jets crapped the bed. If they lose to Pittsburgh I think it's probably time to set the expectations back to where they were for most people before the season - not 3-13 like that idiot Peter King said, but 7-9 or 8-8 as a ceiling.
Looks like we're getting the majority of the expert picks. I don't know if I should feel good about that or not. I like being the underdog and sticking it to the experts who always pick against us.
The Jets should win. The Steelers are rusty. That was a joke: Get It? J-E-T-S JETS-JETS-JETS :metal:
It's been a fckn disgrace so far. The game might as well be in Pittsburgh. Perhaps Simms will wipe Cowher's jizz off his mouth before the third qtr begins.
Even though I don't agree with the rule because I like defensive players jarring the ball loose on big hits ....IMO the hit by Troy was on a defenseless receiver and he should have been flagged. Steelers get all the calls....
