This is gonna be one of those games where the team that wins will get that 1 or 2 big plays. I think both defenses are good enough to shut down the offenses.
Hoping that the Jets stop hurting themselves with the penalties, drops, turnovers, random coverage break downs and questionable coaching decision that seem to keep popping up. If they play as well as they did yesterday but cut out the sloppy stuff I think that they'll win @ Titans and will have a fighting chance @Falcons. Will be interesting to see if Rex can get them to clean up their act.
We completely shut down Spiller yesterday, we can do the same with Chris Johnson. I remember last year we shut him down most of the game except for one huge run that inflated his stats. I'm watching the Chargers/Titans highlights and their offensive line does look pretty solid though.
I'm just praying Shonn Greene manages to get back healthy and get a shitload of snaps... which would equal 10+ of their drives going 3-and-out. The fact that he'd be wearing down their solid OL with friendly fire as he b-lines straight into their backs, is just icing on the cake. Hell, he'd be a key player. For us. GO SHONN GREENE!!
Tough, physical defense out there in Tennessee. Going to be a slugfest of a game. Not too worried about CJ1K, but one missed tackle and he's gone. In the end, this is a very winnable game.. let's hope that's the outcome. If you told me a few weeks ago we'd be 3-1 heading into Atlanta, I would've taken that in a heartbeat.
I wanted to go back to Nashville, but was afraid Sanchez might be starting. I didn't want that pity looks I saw from Titans fans like I saw last December. So glad Geno is our starter. Jets will win again. Watch out Shaun Greene the pain is coming.
Locker, so far is having a pretty good year. Johnson is off to a slow start. I expect this game to be like the Bills game. If the defense plays like it has been playing and Geno plays relatively mistake free football I see no reason why we can't win.
Count me in, too, but my read is that we're missing something here. Wish we had an Oilers fan on the site to give us a breakdown.
we need to keep their passing attack in the middle of the field in check. i think we have a shot if david harris doesnt see the field much. he is really our worst defensive player and absolutely kills us. outside of him we now have the speed and ability to compete in the front 7. he is already playing less, which is a good sign.
We will definitely need someone to watch CJ as well as Locker, the man likes to take off and run with the football - he did so several times yesterday. Locker hasn't thrown an INT I believe this season also. Jets can win this game, but we cannot continue to turn the football over. To beat these Titans we need to play disciplined football.
Thats my problem with the Jets right now. They're not curb stomping. Even if opposing teams gives them so many opportunities the Jets still find a way to keep it close.
This game's going to be good and close. These are the two most underrated teams in the league. We held Doug Martin to 65 yards. We held CJ spiller to 9 (crazy right?). That said CJ2Ks probably better than both of them, and they have one other thing. Chance Warmack. I really wanted the Jets to take him... He's easily the best player from the 2013 draft. The reason Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and I suspect Eddie Lacey turned out to be huge disappointments in the NFL is because Chance Warmack can part the red sea. That said that line hasn't faced anything like this line. That's the match up to look forward to, the Titans O-line vs the Jets D-line. It's a game only true football fans will enjoy. If CJ does get past the first level, we're better equipped this year. We got a lot of speed to match his. Davis, Allen, Barnes, are all wayyyy faster than Scott, Bell, and Pace. , the Titans have a ton of weapons, but I don't trust Locker to consistently get them the ball. Still they like to get it to Washington and Wright in the flat or over the mifdle so our they're gonna test our young safeties. Cromartie will win the battle with Kenny Britt. He won't be a factor. They like to blitz Brown and Ayers, and they do it because their D-line's below average. Derek Morgan's the only real force, and Ferguson will have no trouble with him. That makes them vulnerable to the screen so I expect Powell to have a big game. I also think their DBs be exploited, especially Sensabaugh (2nd year guy out of Clemson, slot corner). If we can get him matched up with Stephen Hill I'd take that shot deep everytime. In fact Stephen Hill ALREADY did spoil Clemson's season in 2010 when he was at Ga. Tech. Fun fact. Although I'd avoid throwing on Verner's side, and their safeties will take out our TEs. Prediction: Jets 17 Titans 13. This will be Geno's first game with no turnovers. Stephen Hill will have another >100 yard game and at least 1 TD CJ2K gets 1 long TD run, but ultimately is held in check <100yds Kenny Britt has no catches Coples, Richardson, and Wilkerson combine for 4+ sacks.
The key is having a spy on Jake Locker. The guy can beat you with his feet if he wanted to. I think our improved speed over last year should fix that. Defensively, nothing particularly special about them aside from Pollard. Our line on both sides should be able to hold up nicely.
The Verner corner and Jason McCourty are a good 1/2 combo at CB. It's only 3 games but the Titans are #7 in yards allowed per game and #10 in ppg allowed (#1 being lowest allowed).
Titan Defense: Any defense facing a rookie QB has one goal: Shut down the running game and make the Rookie beat them. That was the Bill's strategy and Geno beat them. Geno's 4 pass plays for over 40 yrds last week will force the Titans to back off a bit, which will give Powell some breathing room, but the game will ultimately come down to Geno beating the Titans' stacked box.
This is just one of those games we have to win, if not its going to come back and haunt us when we are both tied and they have the tiebreaker to get into the playoffs.
