very true. Past results of this season have not been a good indicator of future results. Jets need to be prepared and fired up for Buffalo.
I believe the Jets lose this one, just because its a game that they should win, just like the colts vs jags.though it will be more of the Jets committing dumb mistakes moreso then the Bills dominating.
I watch Buffalo a lot. here's my takes Manuel look horrendous yesterday in his return. truly awful. I think he will bounce back to a degree (he would have to), I think he might still struggle vs. this Jets D like last time. The key to beating Buffalo is stuffing their running game. That means hitting Spiller hard every time you can (he doesn't like contact) and stuffing the lanes for Jackson. The games in which Manuel has looked "good" were the ones where he had a running game. His 2 worst games came against us in NY, and yesterday in Pit.. the common denominator was that both teams stuffed the running game and blitzed. Let's hope for more of the same. Not too mention Marrone / Hackett sticks to the run almost more than any coach I've ever seen. Which could be good or bad for them, depending on the success they are having - and that success doesn't matter either way to him/ them. On a side note, Manuel is almost the opposite of Geno Smith. Geno likes to throw to the sidelines, almost too much, and doesn't have much success throwing across the middle of the field. Where as, Manuel's passes to the sideline miss HORRIBLY. He throws it into different time zones on the sideline. Cover the middle of the field - and stop the run.
On offense, you have to be worried a little going into this. It won't be as easy to score against them as it was last game in NY. We picked on one corner and won't be as fortunate Sunday. I also worry about Geno Smith in the weather. His worst games in college and in the pros were in windy, wet games. Buffalo is a cesspool as we all know. That place could turn into a hornet's nest for him if he makes a turnover or 2 early and could spiral out of control. Let's hope not. I predict a low scoring game. I'd like to see our Jets run the ball and take methodical shots deep down field when they can, but put a priority on ball protection. I think we win, but take the under.
weather is always a concern up there this time of year - Temperatures in the 50's are forecast with little precipitation. granted its 6 days out but hopefully that doesn't change too much.
All true. If we lose this game it will be down to us , not Buff being better than us on the day. I'm quite excited to hopefully see 2 TE sets now and with Holmes returning , yay!
I would say we are a team capable of beating anyone in the NFL, but we are also capable of losing to anyone in the NFL. So count me as one who calls this game winnable but no sure thing.
Division games by nature can be hard to predict but if we lose this game after having two weeks to prepare for it I don't think we go all that far in the post season.
Buffalo is actually the favorite to win the game against the Jets on Sunday. The spread is generally Buffalo -1, depending on where you look. But the Bills are favored slightly to win this game. Anyone that thinks the Jets are locks to win this game should bet on them. This game could go either way. These two teams a quite similar in a lot of respects, despite their records. Should be fun to watch.
Seth Walder @SethWalderNYDN 8m David Nelson said this game, against former team, does have extra meaning. Said he learned he was cut by Bills via Twitter. #nyj
I have an opportunity to go to this game but it's kind of a package deal where you get a bus ride there and back, free booze (not sure if it's just beer or what), food at the tailgate and a lower bowl seat. Catch is it's about $190. And I might get kicked in the face. I live near Toronto so my only real chance to see the Jets live are Bills vs Jets home games and I didn't see them last year. I really want to go but nearly $200 seems pretty steep. For the record: Last time I went we won. I feel we have a good shot of winning this one as well but I guess you can never be sure. Thoughts?
Pass protection will be important. Williams is a guy who could wreck this game for us if we don't block him. We've already seen what has happened when we have turned the ball over on the road. Bills are in the role of spoiler at this point and trying to develop manuel. My guess is their best games from here on out will be against divisional opponents. We should expect their best game in front of a rowdy crowd. Geno will need to make more plays than against the Saints because the Bills will gear up to stuff the run.
