And the turnovers were a result of pressing. If you dont have all the things in place you are going to press, you are going to try to do more than what you should be doing because you have to make up for the loss of whats not there. Drew Brees, a top 5 QB didnt have a head coach last year. He pressed, he threw 19 interceptions, he fumbled the ball 5 times. Why? because he didnt have a proper NFL system in place. If you dont have a competent coaching staff, competent offensive unit, you can not succeed. The end.
Havent you learned anything from the Geno vs. Sanchez ordeal? Sanchez may be slighly better right now, but he is a dead end that leads no where. He may get a shot at a stop gap, but thats about it. No team is going to look at him and think, yeah, this guy can be our franchise QB. I think what LT said is much more realistic in the sense that he will be brought in as a backup elsewhere and will only enter a starting lineup if there is an injury. Also, just because Sanchez may be the 30th to 32nd best QB in the NFL, the NFL is likely to go with a younger player with upside (like Geno Smith). They are going to try and draft a young franchise QB, instead of signing Mark Sanchez.
Stop it. Drew Brees threw for 5200 Yards and 43 Touchdowns. FIFTY-TWO-HUNDRED YARDs. FORTY-THREE Touchdowns. yeah 19 picks was higer then the prior year, but is average for his time in new orleands. to say he wasnt succesful is just a crazy statement. as is comparing his 24 turnovers to sanchez who didnt throw 43 touchdowns, or even close to that. hell mark didnt have 40 touchdowns the last 2 seasons COMBINED and had like half the yards brees did last season. not succesful? if brees repeated what he did last year every year he would go down as the greatest qb of all time and break every record in the book. if anything your post shows the exact opposite. if you are an elite QB like brees, everything around you can change or leave or go to crap and you can still have a monster pro bowl season. hell look at brady, he lost his #1 and #2 WR, and his #1 and #2 tight ends and will still have another great year
Exactly. Now we will watch Geno Press and conclud he sucks and we need to tank for Teddy...or Start Simms
Its not fair for Sanchez, it wont be fair for Geno either. How can you judge a QB in this offense? Its a complete joke, even the Jags have better weapons than we have. Id kill for Blackman and MJD right now, we have the worst weapons in the NFL. Geno will fail, and we will never know what he is either.
Roy Cummings: The Bucs have finally and officially ruled LG Carl Nicks as OUT for Sunday's game against the Jets. TE Tom Crabtree out too Will help us a bit.
Drew Brees INT % last year was 2.8, his career INT & is 2.7. He threw the ball 670 times last year, so using INTs is misleading since he threw so much, using % better shows how many INTs he threw in relation to other years. By not making stupid mistakes. That's how you succeed. The Jets aren't asking their QB to throw 7 TDs in a game, just to stop making stupid decisions that costs the team. That's how a QB can succeed here.
Was listening to Kay and LeGrecca on the way home. Kay gave the points and took the Bucs -3.5, Don said the Jets win outright. I always did like Don more than Michael.
I like this match up for us TBH. Our strongest team position is our DL and their weakest position is their OL. Wilkerson and Richardson are going to eat em up
