It's all about what you make him do

If we rely on the run game and short passing game and maybe go vertical in spurts Geno can thrive

    Missing some points

Guys, I think the glaring thing here is that Mark should be crushing Geno in this camp. All this stuff with building chemistry with Jets west and Mark being the vet. Geno is doing very well. Gone are the days where a rookie needs to sit out a season. That was usually for the guys who came to a crappy team and really didnt have a great shot at success. Now, contracts for rookies have changed. Less years, less money, less guarantees. Time to see what hes got now. I like the fact that he is taking sacks and not forcing stuff personally. Geno is legit, this shouldnt be this close. Well see in the pre season, but I think the kids got the "it" factor. Oh and yeah, head band is girly.

The Jets didn't face 8 in the box consistently, that's a lie.

I would hope D's had fear of the pass game in 2010 b/c it led us to 11 wins and a ton of late game comebacks after either the run game failed and/or the D failed.

I don't know how anyone can argue that we Sanchez had a good offense around him 2011 or 2012. We had little as far as weapons and little as far as protection. The only knock I put on Sanchez is protecting the football, he should have been much better about that. I just don't think we had much out there for him. Also, I think his play action fakes suck hard and that nobody bites, that hurts his game a lot.

Why THE FUCK can we not complete a HB screen pass?? That is crazy!!

Thirdly, nice point about the other rooks. I still think it's better for Geno to wait until we are sure of what we have. If this offense blows there is no sense in putting him back there week 1. Nobody, expected this to be a good year from the onset. Let make a legit run with Geno in '14.

Why did it take til Day 6 for us all to acknowledge how terrible the headband is? Haha.

The guy is severely lacking in confidence (and the headband is awful). A sound running game would help that out a lot (maybe a hair cut too).

We have to have a threat in the ground game, so defenders bite on fakes and Sanchez has some time to throw to open receivers. He has all the physical ability it's strictly mental with him right now.

The competition with Geno, could actually light a fire and bring out the confidence he once had.

I agree and this is what we should be taking away from every practice like today's practice... the overall picture.

Every day that Geno plays comparable to Mark is a bad day for Mark, period. No rookie should ever even be close.

I still think, even if this continues, that Sanchez will be the starter for reasons I stated earlier. All things being equal, they will go with the veteran because "game management" will trump the equality oin performance. Also, it is much better to start Sanchez and pull him if he stinks up the field than it is to start Smith and then pull him if he stinks up the field.

Much better to start The Annointed One and then give him the hook than vice-versa.

  9. Haven't you been arguing throughout this & other threads that stats/rankings don't tell the whole story??

For one. that team saw a lot of 9/10 man fronts BECAUSE they were such a pound it down your throat type of running game & due to the limited passing game.

Secondly, I'm suggesting they WERE a top 10 running game..when looking at the whole picture. Which includes stats, surrounding cast, scheme, & blocking. Jets had some of the best run blocking in the NFL. Greene/LT was above average & nothing more..but all encompassing this group was certainly top 5 league wide

Also, I understand how important the QB position is, but why doesn't the media tweet more about how the defense looks or other positions? I am curious how the O and D line's look too. Seems each tweet is about Sanchez or Geno, occasionally mentioning which WR they are throwing to.

Would love to see what all you idiots wear when / if you do work out. He's growing his hair out to donate it,. And anyone who's ever had long hair before knows that working out with it all over the place is a PITA. This isn't a publicity stunt,.. or him doing something stupid or silly. It's a functional piece of his workout attire, Who the fuck cares how it looks. Shit he could shave his head bald and tattoo an ass on his forehead and I would care less so long as he came out to play.

Some of you "football" fans sure do care a lot about fashion eh?

it never saw 9/10 man fronts. Go back and watch those games, our run game didn't scare anyone- except the Bills and if anyone believes we were facing Ds geared to stop our runt hey certainly weren't late in games when we needed to throw to come back to win yet we do so successfully.

That post was continuing from another, the stats are not w/o context. They are showing the primary RBs from each team, sure some yardage could have been in garbage time just as some our guys yards were but it takes out the reverses and other nonsense.

top 10 and top 5 are very different, I don't believe they were top 5 in the AFC so I'm not sure they were top 10 in the NFL./ Either way it was a GOOD group but nowhere near great like top 5 would suggest.

Headlines bro, headlines. Nobody, cares about the Jets defense; and especially nobody cares that the Jets might have something "good" "over there". Right now, people like to shit on us. Yesterday, there were 6 articles on Yahoo.com about the Jets, mostly looking at us through a lens in a negative light. Maybe, 6 other articles about football all about different teams. That's what's selling, not a Jets comeback story.

junc, I know I'm probably the last person to be giving advice on diplomacy, but if it really bothers you when people make personal attacks (since I've seen you tell people to stop with the personal attacks and insults a number of times in the past couple of days), avoiding the type of comment that I booked above would go a long way toward not provoking those insults.

By the way, I am at your mother's house watching her fornicate with goats wearing gay headbands.

in 90+ degree heat in the middle of the summer? Why not just let him do what he's doing. What do you care what's on his head? Everyone who thinks this is a big deal is just a sheep to the media frenzy that is "Make the jets look like a circus" If he were to wear a cap there'd be just as much shit talked about the cap he wore. See posts about hating the Jets West cap.

Just to you people he can't do ANYTHING right and you'll take any shots you can at the guy.

Would love to see some of you people say some of this stuff about his sexuality to his face. Pretty sure most would be singing a different toon with his 6-2 225 frame standing over you.

Bash him all you want for shit on the field, What he wears in his own time is none of our business.

Any word on how Miliner looked? I saw some photos but just looked like individual drills, not sure if he was doing any team drills.

Obviously the QB spot is important but right now I think the biggest news is our complete lack of a run game if Ivory isn't back soon and if Goodson never shows his face. Regardless of who is handing it off if they are handing it off to McKnight and/or Powell for an extended period of time it's going to be an ugly, ugly season.
