Maybe if Sanchez felt the threat of losing his job he may have played better these last 2 years. He's been playing well in camp and he looked decent against the Lions.

I was at camp yesterday (finally), and Sanchez honestly looked very good. He did have two throws that looked like he missed badly, but one was to Titus Ryan, and one to Campbell - could have been bad routes (or not).

With that said, Geno throws the shit out of the ball. Not sure how else to say it. He did not have as good of a day though, but I think alot of that was the gimpy foot - it looked like it was bothering him more and more as the day went on.

Three other take aways from yesterday ....

#1 - Spadola is awsome, but keep an eye on KJ Stroud - he was on fire yesterday.

#2 - Zach Rodgers had a miserable practice for the most part - having an issue catching the ball.

#3 - Kyle Wilson got beat left, right and sideways yesterday - by everyone

** Oh and I was literally 10 feet away from where Cro went to the ground grasping his elbow. Good lord it looked bad, he was flopping all over. Pretty sure i screamed something inappropriate, because the lady next to be grabbed her kids and moved away. But he got up and waved the trainers away until they left him alone. He didn't leave the drill.

Yea he looked completely different when throwing an INT to a d-linemen this year. He's the same guy. Better system, same guy.

Sanchez improving his play and outright beating Geno (if he can) for the starting spot is a win win for everyone.

Sanchez improves and increases value, Geno gets to sit and learn instead of becoming the next QB victim of the Jets FO, and we have a better year as a team.

Geno can throw the football but there are 2 things that bother me watching him throw. One is he always crouches when he throws and the second is he has a busy delivery- it's quick but it's not smooth.

yeah thats the big thing, all this talk of improvement is nice and all but should the dumb mistakes persist during the game its all for not.

Geno needs to prove he can make big plays.

Mark needs to prove he can go without making dumb mistakes.

that is a good way to put it - a busy delivery......

the actual release of the ball i am sure is quick enough but getting there looks a bit complicated. it may be a function of arm length or how he torques his arm.

it may not be an issue so until it is we move on.

This is really the best scenario for the Jets. I don't see any other way around it. Geno isn't lighting it up and as indicated even BEFORE the draft, Geno still needs to work on fundamentals before throwing him out there.

This system could very well mask some of Mark's flaws on the field. If he can be more productive, we'll be in the playoffs - and from there it's anyone's game.

How can you not sign up for that?

I think the best way to describe him is a gun-slinger with all of the negatives and not many of the positives that are attributed to that type of QB.

I'm already signed up for the system, really excited about it actually. I think Marty is the real deal. That doesn't mean I don't want to upgrade at QB. Whether we have an upgrade or not is a huge question mark still, but I really don't think it takes much to be an upgrade.

    ....

not sure where to put this, so I'll stick it here:

Muhammad Wilkerson's +49.1 grade is the second highest we've ever given to a 3-4 DE, behind Watt last year of course.

He's decent enough that a run at the playoffs is easily possible. We have a pretty weak schedule. But I don't trust him to play 3-4 games consistently well so I don't see a Super Bowl run ever as long as Sanchez starts.

and this means nothing unless the line can hold blocks with out...holding. But I like the idea of Hill and Braylon on the outside and JK in the slot.

The win win for the Jets would be if Geno Smith plays lights out, and becomes our starting QB for the next few years at his miniscule cap number, and Sanchez plays lights out in training camp as well, and we can trade him to some team that ends up with a preseason QB injury for a pick or two.

no chance with his salary plus there is just not enough time. sanchez may play only what - 3-4 more quarters.

if i need a QB i'll likely go elsewhere, but stranger things happen i guess.

BTW who is the rams back-up??

Only in New York qb competition do numbers get exposed just for training camp practices...bottom line is for the past 4 training camps we've heard Sanchez looking sharp and improving however his numbers have shown his turnovers increase since his rookie year. For the longest time I've supported him but the fact is he is a weak qb who was masked behind a great o line, rb's and defense....after that int he tossed against the lions he should have been pulled from the game and geno should have been inserted right then and there...Sanchez has thrown more int's to dlineman than I think any other qb in history...you would think going into his 5th year this guy could throw a screen pass! Or have the brains to recognize the intended target was on the ground and to throw it at his feet to at least live to the next down...this is the same shit that's been repeated over and over...Rex Ryan woody Johnson will continue to embarrass this franchise by keeping Sanchez the starter...this guy is nothing but an embarrassment to the team and the nfl....even McElroy on his td pass against the lions was able to get out of pressure in the pocket and make a great play! Sanchez would have taken the sack or turned the ball over...this guy is a joke

What's basically the whole playbook I posted?

What about what you just said sums up that playbook?

I keep seeing you reference it, but in no way do the posts you do it in reflect understanding of that playbook.
