Yeah, I doubt it too, but with Greene’s contract up (if he asks for something significant, we should let him walk) and a bunch of unknowns... you never know. We have some good potential in the backfield and Im hoping one of McKnight, Powell and Ganaway can step up into a decent role and show promise for next year.

Michael Buchanan from Illinois. Look for him to break out like Mercilus did this year. Buchanan has similar speed and pass rush ability, but is more of a fit for a 3-4 OLB than Mercilus was as he played a position that dropped back the last few years.

    Jesse Williams, DT/DE/NG, Alabama

Former Rugby player and Australian native, moved inside to NG after starting all last year at 5-tech DE. Already a great runstopper, still learning passrush moves. He'll light up the combine, as he has recently ran a sub 5 40 and can put up 225 50 times.

And he is a snazzy dresser, as my avatar shows...

    "Unblockeable" comes to mind.
Watched Alabama on the CBS/ESPN games last year and even with guys like Hightower, Upshaw, Barron & Kirtpatrick on D, you couldnt help but notice Williams' play.

I am huge South Carolina fan and Jets fan, as I am from New York and Graduated from SC. The kid is a HUGE team player and the type of kid every team needs. He has been absolutely busting his butt to get back and is ahead of schedule and close to 100%. Obviously it will take a little while to get the mental aspect back of cutting and stuff, but i have little doubt he will get back to where he left off. Would love to see him be a Jet, but even if he has a decent year, not so sure he automatically comes out as he is very family oriented and his family will put a high regard to him getting his degree. Money talks though. We shall see.

There's also the fact that Ray Rice, Matt Forte, and Jonathan Stewart are scheduled to become free agents next year with Stewart being the most likely of the three to hit the open market.

I would love to have Stewart on this team, he's a top 5 RB talent in the league stuck in a 50/50 role. The situation reminds me of Larry Johnson behind Priest Holmes and then LJ taking over the league for a few years.

Potential is great, but he can't play. Doesn't matter how little he was developed, he won't get taken highly based on that alone. If that was the case than all of those other guys would have been early picks too (though your ideas of who the potential laden guys are seems solely based on Rivals star ratings).

I was praying the Jets traded a mid round pick for Stewart when the Panthers signed Tolbert (its sad when a team has 3 RBs better than all of ours)... Just the thought of him on this team with Greene as the #2 and McKnight receiving out of the backfield is amazing.

Oh well, that never happened, but if the price was right, I would be all for the Jets signing Stewart.

Time to bump the thread..........particularly with the spotlight on RT for our team.

    Alex Hurst, LSU Right Tackle
    6-6 335lbs.

Big road grader who is solid in the pass protection. Certainly doesnt hurt that he practices vs fellow LSU Sam Montgomery and and Barkevious Mingo on a daily basis.
If we're looking to ground and pound, this guy could cure some ills. Projected in the 2nd round which is great to leave us other options in the 1st. Left tackle prospects are in more of a demand for the first round.

Eh, I'm not the biggest Hurst fan he has been decent. Hurst is a good run blocker and I like his length but the problem with Hunter is how he holds up in pass protection and Hurst isnt the best pass protection

Michael Dyer with all his trouble will likely be a great mid round option, I remember a lot of guys being in love with Doug Martin well Michael Dyer is very similar.

I wanna go offense 3 out of the 1st 4 rounds, hopefully trading back and adding a G/RB/TE/WR/OLB this draft might be stacked

Le'Veon Bell is impressing me tonight. Solid runner, good size and is picking up the blitz well in pass pro. Could be a good mid round option at RB, becasue you know we always get a mid round RB.

Dion Sims impressed me tonight as well, looked great blocking, and caught everything. He's a big dude too at 6'5 280 (I believe). Not sure if he'd come out his Junior season with Maxwell looking shaky out there but if he does he'd be a guy I'd love to add.

He is a big beast of a TE and likely to go high if he coeds out. I think the Keller situation will dictate if we go after a TE high in the draft or not.

Michael Buchanan is goign all beast mode over W. Michigan in the first half. I have a hard time seeing us go DE in round 1, but he has the size, skill, and motor to make a difference if we switch to a 43 full time.

Jonathan Brown is showing some ability as a linebacker making good plays in the passing game almost picking off a pass. Could be a good mid round guy.

Tyler Bray is going to be good. If Sanchez fails, Bray could be a very good option for us to draft.

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse

I could be bias as I am a Syracuse fan, but I have never been very high on Nassib. He made strides last year, but He looked great Saturday. Granted, they were playing Northwestern, but he was constantly under pressure, and looked extremely poised.

They play USC this week, and will tell a lot. If he looks half as good as he did Saturday, he could very well fly up the boards. We could very well be looking for another QB in 2013.

He impressed me a lot on Saturday, even though Northwestern isn't a top tier defense, per se. We'll see how well he stands up to the USC pass rush. To me, it'll speak a lot about his poise.

He definitely did not have the game of his career, but he showed some fight. He needs to work on his touch passes, and 1 of his 2 picks weren't really his fault. His receiverd dropped roughly 6 passes also. I don't believe the rush was bothering him that much.

I'm officially riding the Le'Veon Bell bandwagon I would love to see him and Powell as our feature backs I also got a feeling we sign Reggie Bush next off-season he loves Sparano

Bush/Bell/Powell- all 3 bring something different

McKnight strictly KR and sometimes WR

    I'd ride with that
