I agree it was a clean hit, a bit of a blindside but he was turning into it and he didn't target the head. I feel bad for Eller and hope he's okay but I hope they don't give the Gryba a bunch of games. Totally was a suicide pass and if I'm on the Habs bench I make it known to Diaz that if he EVER does something like that again he's going to regret it. Also just read that Prust refered the the Sens coach as a "bug eyed fat walrus" which, while hilarious (and somewhat accurate), can't really be tolerated by the league, so we'll see what happens there. I'm going to miss the game tonight but I have a feeling it's going to be a good one.
I think Gryba will get a game simply because of how injured Eller is. Tough and the grey area calls remain.
Crosby is pure greatness. It's hilarious to listen to asshurt opposing fans take away from his game with stupid shit like "he doesn't fight" or "is a whiner". Gretzky didn't fight, Lemieux didn't fight, Yzerman, Sakic, Trottier and Francis didn't fight. Fuckin' pussies don't know how to play the game I guess. Pathetic. He is the most fundamentally sound player I've ever seen play this sport. In an era that preaches defense defense defense he finds ways to create in traffic and absolutely take over games.
The Habs are celebrating like they just won the Stanley Cup, but they need to be reminded that they just left their house 1-1. It was telling that at the start of the game the Sens started with a goon line ready to throw down and answer the bell for the perceived slight by Gryba, and the Habs pussied out. Unfortunately the Sens then failed to press home their point by beating the shit out of Montreal, but I expect a different performance on Sunday.
Great player, but whining detracts from his appeal, by the way talking 2 way greatest players he couldn't carry Messier's jock
He was low key tonight probably because of his jaw, every game vs the Rangers he cries to the Refs all game long...
I'd like to think so, but we never make it easy. We need to get the forecheck going again as we did on Thursday; tonight the Sens were too busy trying to get Montreal to throw down and turn it into a battle, they just skated past us and when we started trying to play hockey they got lucky, nicked a couple of goals and then took control. Karlsson needs to be better, you can't be that bad if you're playing 25 minutes, and MacLean needs to be a bit smarter than he was tonight. He outcoached Therrien comprehensively on Thursday, and Therrien returned the favour tonight. This series is a battle of two very talented coaches.
I think you have a decided edge with Craig Andersen, Price is always shaky in the playoffs, my opinion but I think the Sens win the 3 home games and take it in 6
Lol, it probably seems that way watching thru blue and red goggles. Either way, he's a marked man, he gets extra attention from d-men and with that comes extra hacking/slashing/tripping and checking. Not saying he doesn't get out of line sometimes, he does, but I think ppl blow it way out of proportion. We'll agree to disagree. As for Messier, sure, incredible 2 way player but different eras, the game has changed so much since his prime. The best 2 way player in the game imo is Datsyuk, anyways. By fundamentals I meant combination of shooting/passing/cycling and creating skills all while not being a liability in his defensive/neutral zone. His production coupled with defensive IQ makes him the best in the game overall to me. I guess we'll agree to disagree there as well. Regardless, good job tonight by the Isles weathering that storm. They are in the playoffs for a reason.
Not disputing Jake he is agreat player, but he's on my Tom Brady list if you know what I mean...great win for Isles, saw the game they outplayed the Pens over the last 50 minutes
I hope you're right, but Price was superb tonight. Ottawa's biggest problem this season has been getting in front of the net and making life difficult for goalies; if we do that in the next couple of games then we can do some damage, but if we stand off and hope that somehow shots from the blue line are going to magically fool Price, or we're going to get a lucky tip, then we're going to struggle. This Montreal team is soft and one dimensional. We need to beat the crap out of them, intimidate them and bully them. If they think that every time they take a pass they're going to get destroyed they're doing to play with one eye somewhere other than the puck, and we'll win. There's no excuse for losing this series now we have home advantage.
Sens definitely have a decided edge in grit, I think as you saw in game 1 Price can be very Fleury-like
Yeah, I hear u. Just had to get that off my chest. 99% of hockey fans I know just RIP the guy constantly. That little jaw brace he was wearing tonight looks el retardo. Might as well go with a full cage if u ask me. 1-0 Sharks!!! YES!!!!!1
