Kadri is brown, so I like him as another brownie.

Don Cherry is one of the reasons I hate the Leafs, the arrogant fan base is another reason i am not a big fan.

However, I like the Leafs more then Canadiens...Also, have nice blue jerseys

    Cant stand Dion Phaneuf

Yeah Don Cherry is an imbicile, cant wait til he finally fucks off. Its funny to see Brian Burke's creation turn the corner right after hes fired, tough luck.

I don't like Cherry much either, I respect him as a patriot but not a hockey mind.

Personally I feel Leafs and Jets have a lot in common: no championship since the 60s, among the most hated/insulted teams in their sport, fans over react to everything, media is always fabricating stories or making mountains out of mole hills, etc.

Just an observation as a fan of both.

We already did this conversation last year. I was proven right then as well.

No, you weren't. The point is that it can't be the "same old Penguins" when they've been the best team in the East over the last decade. Back to back SC appearances, a Cup, constantly a high seed, etc.

This year, they've been by far the best team in the East. The fact that they've been missing players makes it even more incredible.

Last year, the Penguins and Flyers were second and third in the East and absolutely should not have met in the first round. Either way, a team was going to lose that should have advanced further.

By season, rank in the East in points:

    3rd, 2nd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st

Except that last season I said that the Penguins aren't as good as their regular season stats suggested, and that they'd be knocked out in the first round because they aren't that well designed for playoff hockey. And that's exactly what happened.

You can bullshit all you like, but I was right. To argue otherwise in the face of the actual facts is clearly a ridiculous position for you to take, and not one I'm going to waste time debating with you.

That core of players (Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Fleury, Dupuis, T Kennedy, Kunitz, Orpik) validated their work in 09 with an SC title and their constant contention proves it wasn't a fluke. Hate them all you want they are a great team and incredibly skilled.

I feel they may have made one too many additions mid-season this year though, could shake up the lines a little too much. Familiarity and chemistry are underrated things.

You were not right. They played the Flyers in the first round. I said all of this last season, when the playoff pairings were set. Losing in 6 to one of the elite teams in hockey (they were third in the East and would've finished 3rd in the West with their point total) does not mean they were a fluke.

Speaking of ridiculous positions to take, arguing that the Bruins have been better than the Penguins borders on absurdity. No one who follows hockey would take that comment seriously.

This is obvious to anyone who doesn't have a deep-seated hatred of the Penguins, yes.

Yis, I think you could absolutely argue the Bruins are better than the Penguins. Not as skilled, no, but their system asks them to do other things and play a different game. In a 7 game series I may even lean toward Boston because of their style. That'd be a 'coin-flip' series to me.

Edit: Wait, I think I misread what you said. Missed the "have been" part and read it as "are".

The Penguins have the best talent in the East, no doubt. I wonder how long of a leash one cup can give Bylsma though? To me, he is a poor coach. Pens have had all the talent in the world to at least make it to the cup since 09 yet haven't.

Alex Ovechkin is turning it up at the right time. Look the fuk out..... It appears Oates is letting him create more than Dale Hunter did.

I think the only playoff series since the Pens won the cup that has been terrible was the Philly one last year. When they played the Habs they ran into an incredibly hot goalie and outplayed them that series. When they lost to TB weren't both Malkin and Crosby out? They've had their fair share of injuries in the playoffs, if they are fully healthy in the playoffs this season then you'd expect them to go far.

Oilers fire Tambellini and hire MacT, who has zero GM experience. Lmao. Out with the old and in with the older? Kevin Lowe is a fuckin BUM!

I'd possibly be ok with being run by the old kliq from the 80s if it were guys like Gretz, Messier or Sather, but we got fuckin Kevin Lowe at the controls with contract for life status. And Scott fuckin Howson is back. The same idiots who created the mess are back to fix the mess. Lmao.

for your info, cherry started out coaching here in Rochester in the ahl.

took over an independent team as coach/gm, and made playoffs with team of other nhl team's ahl rejects and unwanted free agents. olaf kolzig was one example.

did such a great job that he got promoted to bruins coach after boston became our parent team. wish bruins were still here instead of having buffalo's hockey ( and football ) teams being constantly shoved down our throats by local shill media.

buffalo is closer, so they are our teams. bullshit! these hypocrites wold be the first ones bitching if Toronto blue jays blacked out yankee telecasts here because Toronto is actually much closer than the big apple.

fairness always takes a back seat to press self interest in terms of money.

tonight's pitt at boston game is postponed, as well as buffalo at pitt tomorrow.

I guess the Penguins can't get out of Boston.

Two hottest teams in the league are Caps and Isles. Could be a sick first round matchup.
