Stern had no choice until he gave himself a choice. How funny that the Spurs tend to score the same foul count as the teams they play. Very "fair", considering that every team they play goes over-the-top physical every single time. Coincidental, right? The Spurs always try to play foulfree, by Pop's design. Because he knows they will be called for the most easy touch fouls possible. That foul count is the most useless stat ever, when used against the Spurs. But I know a couple of shills that will fall for it. Stern has hated the Spurs since they swept LeBron's Cavs. And the ratings sucked! Prove me otherwise. Stern is a slave to ratings.
So he gave himself a choice in 2007? You ran into some bad luck in the playoffs. A 6 year drought and 4 titles in the last 13 years, you aren't getting any sympathy from me. Only Bulls fans and Lakers fans could probably give you that, and this is not the year to ask either of them for sympathy.
At this point anything less than a finals appearance is a failure for the Spurs. The years keep stacking up, its time to get this done. 2007 was ages ago now, 6 years. Would kill for one more finals, win or lose. People have been writing em off since 09, it would be a tremendous accomplishment to return 6 years later with a much older big 3. The Spurs are a mismatch for the Heat to, Heat would still be favorite but we would have a much better chance than say OKC, because of our Bigs.
I know that you love the dynamic of superstars owning the league, so my logic is wasted on you. I will post this for people that don't buy into the terribly shallow demographic that Stern aims for... The Spurs don't try to foul. In fact, they avoid contact as a rule. That is the most humorous part of your past arguments. Douches that want to justify the ref calls against the Spurs will cite the foul count. They will NEVER cite individual fouls, they will NEVER cite game play, they will NEVER actually watch Spurs games. But they'll pretend they did. The only reason that the foul count is ever close is that teams will play physical against the Spurs, and the Spurs will play passive against them, and get called for undeserved fouls. But the count has to be close, or it looks suspicious... Yeah, pretend to pay attention to these Spurs games. We both know you don't.
I hate superstars owning the league. The league was much more fun when players stayed with a team forever and developed rivalries because of it. It breeded hate. Instead we have Lebron leaving and teaming up, then Melo/CP3/Dwight/Deron being able to force their way out of their teams. It's much more fun when teams stay together and breed rivalries. I enjoy finally getting a great player in Melo, but it would be nice if we didn't trade 12424534 1st round picks and actually picked the great player. I only talk about foul count when I watch the whole game and pay attention to it. It's way too hard to make a judgement about foul calls only looking at the box score. People tried to do this with the Lakers, but then fail to realize a primary strategy teams tried was to foul Dwight the second he touched to ball and before he got a shot up. So yeah LA will have more FTs and the other team will have more fouls, but that's the strategy from the team that game, not some conspiracy. Good job not explaining why Stern had no choice when the Spurs were winning titles. Again, I have no sympathy for your plight ESPECIALLY when you won a finals sweeping Lebron James and the Cavs. That is the most ANTI conspiracy you can get. A sweep in the finals, for the Spurs, and Lebron not getting a title. Oh the horror, again you aren't getting sympathy from me about purposefully slanted reffing or conspiracies when everything points to your team succeeding from it. NBA refs suck, it happens. Joey Crawford loves being the center of attention. If there's some over reaching conspiracy which you believe, it has benefited your team in the long run, not hurt it. EDIT: Oh and LAL vs SA this series. Conspiracy says LA would have won at least 1 game for ratings, yet sweep
It's not a failure for the Spurs. Right now it might be since everything is stacked to their favor to reach the finals, but in the past not really. I don't know if you are a mismatch for the Heat. You clearly have Duncan > any Heat big man, but I mean the Lebron mismatch. It would be great to watch, as both offenses when on run so seamlessly. You can put whoever you want and they both seems to work so well.
I have no idea if NBA tip off on TNT is joking, or if they are really this unprepared for the show. Just start the DEN/GS game please
Ernie Johnson: "Denver has led wire to wire." Wire to wire means start to finish, not start to halftime.
Chris Paul with a very smart play at the end of the third. Took a while for the announcers to catch on. Blake Griffin won't return. He sprained his ankle on an off day and it hurts
Clippers look toast, Hopefully Memphis and Golden State can pull through. Eliminate 2 major threats to SA
They are fine now... They sold their main beer distributorship in the southwest to pay off their hotel debt...But they ended up losing the hotel anyway... Their main 2 assets now are the Kings stake and about 5 million shares in Wells Fargo...
Home teams 5-0 in the Indiana/Atlanta series, and every game has been a blowout. Indiana by 17, Indiana by 15, Atlanta by 21, Atlanta by 11 Indiana up 20+ late in the 4th tonight
Both are good, I just cant see Memphis making the finals tho. CP3 is a star that is looking for a deep playoff run,
