We just made a trade to get rid of a contract 3 years later on the books, I would be very surprised if we made a 4 year high money deal for JR. It would be illogical but it would be very Knicks
Happy to see Splitter be back, but not at that price. Was hoping it would be 7 million a year not 9, but honestly im not going to spazz out over 2 million more, Splitter did make significant improvements but still has to get better.
There are Wisconsin sports shirts I've seen, and they no joke have the Packers, Brewers, and even Badgers on them..no Bucks. Nobody cares about the Bucs in WI. I mean I do to a point because they're my home state team, but realistically I know they'll never win another championship or probably even come close.
I'll believe it when I see it. Not that I don't think they would sign the guy, but you hardly ever hear anything from the Spurs until they are actually on the verge of signing someone. They float more false rumors than the Kardashians, and make the Patriots sound as mouthy as the Jets.
This fucking guy won't workout with a team unless he's signed first according to his agent David Lee. Lmao what a worthless POS.
Im a huge Brad Stevens fan, ill watch celtcs games just to see him coach. He will get the most out of what the Celtics give him.
Sadly half the teams in the NBA can probably say the same thing... Charlotte, New Orleans, Sacramento, Utah, and Milwaukee among others
Tank for Wiggins or hell Jabari Parker. The Celtics will have the man to build around if they can get Andrew.
There are a lot of steps to winning a NBA championship, it's hard to get hot all the way to the title: You need a) a star player b) a great/timely bench c) good to great coach d) great front office e) good owner f) some luck
You forgot the officials as in the case of Portland and Sacramento they were screwed by the refs against the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals in 2000 and 2002 respectively.
If we let Tyreke go, the only thing I can see is that they are hoping to get Wiggins. Which would be worth it. But chances that we actually win the lottery? Pretty non-existent.
Portland didn't get screwed by the refs. they went up by 18 at the end of the 3rd of game 7 by moving the ball and hitting open shots. then in the 4th they tried to run the clock down from the very start of the quarter by holding the ball, throwing it inside and putting up bad shots. rather than keep playing how they got the lead, they got scared and tried to just hold on to it. that allowed the Lakers to get some momentum, and when they did the Blazers folded. the Kings got screwed by the refs in several of the other games, but they choked game 7 away themselves.
Remind me again how many FT's the Lakers shot in that 4th quarter? I think it was 15. In that game the Lakers made more FT's than the Blazers attempted. That game 6 in 02 with the Kings and Lakers, the one foul I really remember sticking out was Mike Bibby getting elbowed in the face by Bryant yet somehow was called for a foul. In game 7 Peja was awful...not John Starks awful but pretty bad.
The J.R. deal is solid. Paying 6 million for a guy who was considerably an all star is a steal. Now its time for him to hit his shots, If you wanna relate, Danny Green had a nightmare series against the Thunder to the point he was benched, Spurs inked Green to a 3 year 12 million, he responded by having the best 3 pt showing in finals history(Yes he did crumble) but those first 5 games he lifted the Spurs.
Also this contract wont kill the Knicks long term if he does struggle, its nowhere near Amares nightmare deal. If he does perform well then the Knicks will look like Geniuses and will set them up to add even more talent. Knicks got an absolute steal imo the more I think about it.
