He's perfect for us in a sense that he's still an empty vessel and our recent defensive picks have been great, I'm hoping Ricky Sapp can find his potential and stay healthy that'll give us 2 fierce OLB along with our stout D-Line and elite secondary

Fix the O-Line and establish the run, draft a QB in 2015 when that draft should be deep and get a big TE and oh god we'd be set

How did Ansah do overall this year. With what people say about him he has freak athletic abilites. That is something we really could use.

  3. Ansah has a ton of upside but he needs ALOT of work in terms of technique. Jets need a LB who can contribute from day 1. Ansah may need a year

Agree with you for the most part. Werner and Moore are the only edge rushers without obvious flaws this year. Jordan needs to bulk up a bit, Jones has his medical issue, and Ansah is raw but extremely talented.

Yes we need starters, but do we pass on a raw player for a guy with lesser upside? Do we bring in a mediocre vet as insurance and roll the dice? There are a lot of questions for whom ever may be drafting for the Jets. Jordan may be the best selection available to us who could both start and have freak potential. He would just not be as effictive against the run out the gate.

    Travis Long from Washington St.
Granted, - he is a 4th round prospect, but he plays the position in their 3-4 D.
Plus our roster is so bad we have UFA McIntyre starting - not anything against McIntyre, but a 4th round prospect could certainly be an improvement.

  6. I saw one of his games earlier this year & paid close attention due to the fact that he was the only legit NFL prospect in the game. He's got decent hands & pad level but he's really stiff. He also looks alot better w/ his hand in the dirt than standing up. Just one man's opinion but he looks like solely back-up material at the next level.

Ansah is really impressive to me on tape. If we lose to the Bills we should draft in the 8-10 range, should be high enough for him.

Absolutely love Barr... Honestly, he's the only OLB I would want in the 1st round in this class. If he comes out, I truly think he will be the best player out of this class.

I could see him easily going in the top 10, so him going back to school would only gain him so much... plus there's risk of an injury or an off-season (although I highly doubt that).

To answer your question- you go with the guy with higher upside and potential, especially with this team.

I truly dont see this team contending next year and see this year/offseason as a rebuilding year. I you believe a player has huge potential but may take longer to develop, you go with him.

I don't watch much college football but whoever is the best OLB that's who the Jets need to draft.

Jets need to many LBs to draft all this year unless some miracle works out. With Scoot gone Harris fills that void, D. Davis takes Harris's role we need 2 OLB and 2 Rotational and hopefully versitile players

All in all this year I hope we have tons of YOUNG talent on the field growing this year and not sitting and wasting on the bench

We got Sapp and McIntyre but both are reserves so we should look for a vet and a rookie to fill the voids

Don't be surprised the Jets are in a total 4-3 defense next year....read between the lines.

    ....This.
Like I've said before - this whole hybrid thing is getting on my nerves.
I know its dumb to play 3-4 on every snap, but we need some kind of identity & the back and forth is annoying, - especially when talking in the draft forum.

    Alex Okafor OLB/DE Texas 6-4 265.
I'd love to see him last to the early part of round 3. That would be great value. Has played a variety of positions at Texas == OLB, DE, MLB and even some DT.

He's borderline 1st round talent... Doubt he lasts that long.

Okafor has a monster of a game last night and really impressed me. 4.5 sacks, and the way that he acheived those sacks was very significant. The guy can bullrush offensive lineman with power to get the sack. At the same time, he has the speed and the moves to get around the lineman. There's no way he makes it anywhere close to the third round.

Oh I'm with you on this. I can see us starting McIntire and some other vet next year while a Guy like Ansah or Jordan are beign worked in. I highly doubt Moore or Werner are there when we pick and am still completely up in the air on Jones.

While Warmack is a beast, there will be good Tackles or guards in the second. Matthews would be the one guy to give me pause on taking an OLB. He would be an amazing talent around at our pick. Same for Lewan.

I hope we do go 4-3 instead of in between.. That may be some of the reason why the team seemed confused on defense. Tackling is the obvious but a lot of times people were out of position
