Bosh is claiming he and Lebron are staying in Miami. I believe it, but I believe its ONLY for 2014-2015 season. Bosh will be resigned long term because:

    A) Riley has no other real choices on the market, (Dirk is not going to Miami)
B)Bosh can get a long term contract anywhere else, him signing anything less than a 4-5 year deal would make no sense on his part.

I dont think Lebron will commit long term to Miami, the free agents in the 2015 offseason are much younger and have a lot more potential than Bosh, Wade, or even Dirk. Just look at the guys Lebron can go play with:

    PG:
    -Irving
    -Reggie Jackson
    -Rondo

    SG:
    -Klay Thompson
    -Eric Gordon

    PF:
    -Lamarcus Aldridge
    -Kenneth Faried
    -Kevin Love

    Centers:
    -Roy Hibbert
    -Marc Gasol
    -Asik
    -Brooke Lopez
    -Deandre Jordan

Lebron can handpick an array of talent to play with. Imagine Lebron with a top level PG or Center? Him with a good center would be scary.

Well he can kind of handpick. If he wants to team up, he wants to go to a team where they can afford Lebron and someone else and still have a team around them. These players can get big paydays, not all of them will necessarily voluntarily take a lot less to play with Lebron.

When did I say they would take less?

Surprisingly the Knicks DO NOT have the most money to spend in 2015, its hard to believe, but the San Antonio Spurs currently do. Obviously Duncan and Manu will be leaving after next year.

You didn't so I did. If he wants to handpick someone and that someone and him get paid, the list of teams that can do that narrows big time. If they are willing to take less, the amount of teams available increase. So he might be able to handpick, he might not depending on what team and the $ and etc.

Well we have teams with money to spend. The Knicks right now would have over 47 million to spend. Thats about the same amount that the Miami Heat had in 2010. The Spurs have around 52 million to spend so right now we have two teams that could sign 3 "super stars". Lebron took a tad less when he went to Miami, if he did go to NY he would probably have to take a 14-15 million contract and then that would allow em to sign 2 other max contract. The cap should go up though so he might be able to get paid max also.

If he wants to stay long term for the Heat, im all for that, because Bosh and Wade in 2-3 years will not be the same, and even Lebron will not be the same in 2-3 years.

All im trying to say is he can either go with Bosh and Wade long term or go to another team like the Knicks and choose he would want to play with. The other thing to watch out for though is the Heat pursuing Carmelo Anthony. If the Knicks can lock up Anthony it would force the Heat to pay Bosh and Wade. So while some say the Knicks should let Carmelo walk, he is going to walk right into Miami and go with Lebron long term.

I actually think its imperative that they resign him, I mean even if they can get Rondo or Ivring and then another complimentary player, it would fit really good imo.

If I were LeBron, I'd want to break up with Wade.

Yeah, there are teams with that type of room to sign close to max contracts, but they would also be the teams with not a lot of established players on their roster since they have that much room. It creates an interesting dilemma if Lebron were to want to pick and choose his place again.

Yeah, I mean that's what all choice get narrowed down to. Stay with your team, or don't. Although, I don't think it's 100% the Heat need to sign Wade or Bosh longterm. Hypothetically the 3 don't ETO and then don't opt out of the last year, Miami should have relatively clean books after that which would be 2016, KD's free agent summer.

I also believe you have some restricted free agents on your list like Kyrie, but I might be getting the years mixed up. I don't know the details of how RFAs work, but I think it comes down to the team more so than the player if they stay or go.

If Carmelo opts out this year, the Heat can pursue him if Bosh, Wade, and/or Lebron use their ETO. I think they would need all 3 to do it, and then choose Bosh/Lebron/Melo. However, I don't see any reason Wade would use his early termination option unless he does it for the good of the team. I don't think he could get 20 million a year the next two years anywhere else as a FA.

EDIT: So I never finished the Carmelo train of thought. Basically the Heat need someone to use their ETO to sign Carmelo to not max money. However then Carmelo is joining a team with 2 out of the big 3 who can then opt out next year or play on a 1 year deal. Lots of moving pieces

Wade is staying. He's another of those guys who become burdens. Being paid far more than they're worth, they aren't opting out.

Wade is still a good player, but I would have no interest in him. I don't consider him top 15 even when healthy and who knows how many games he can play.

He's 32 and already breaking down.

Like Kobe, I wouldn't want to sign with a team that has Wade.

Yeah now that you brought up Wade, it would make little sense for Wade to opt out, he is scheduled to make $21.5 next season.

IDK its really a big mess, and its really hard to figure out what the future holds because Pat Riley cant even make moves until he knows what Bosh and Wade decide what to do. Riley has to figure out a way to keep Lebron for 2015 AND have money to spend after 2015 because Wade is not the answer long term, and neither is Bosh honestly. If Bosh wants long term though he can opt out and sign with another team which Riley will either have to match or let him walk. Now if Bosh leaves, why would Lebron come back for 2014-2015? it would be like tossing away an entire season? Thats why Riley is up against a wall if he cant get Melo, he will have to pay Bosh long term or else Bosh will leave and Lebron would likely leave to.

PHX @ WAS, MEM @ UTA. Currently PHX is 0.5 games behind MEM and DAL but tied in the loss column with DAL and 1 behind MEM.

LeBron's rookie year, he averaged 2.7 3 point attempts per game and shot 41.7% from the field.

Now he averages 3.9 and shoots 57% from the field.

From the line he's stayed pretty steady.

I don't think Hibbert should be back in the game. He seemed woozy and you saw his head snap back on the hit.

This game is soooo much fun. Lance got a double tech earlier in the game with Wade. Lance says something in Wade's face, Wade goes arms wide "c'mon man" to ref, and Lance gets his second tech and gets thrown out

Wade had a smile on his face on his face once Lance got that tech. Pretty sure Wade knew exactly what he was doing. Also Wade cuts and gets a dunk and him and Lebron stare at the IND crowd

Wade tweaked something and Bosh seems to be benched, so no Wade/Bosh on the court in the final two mnutes for Miami. A shaken Hibbert and no Lance o for IND down the stretch

Well this was a really strange ending so far. Bosh comes back in. IND has the ball with 5 seconds on shot clock, West hits a 3! Then Heat get nothing on Bosh brick. Down 4 with 12 second difference on shot/game clock, MIA doesn't foul. They get the stop, Miami kind of casually brings the ball up, Bosh fakes, side steps, hits 3 to cut it down to 1 with 3 seconds left. MIA has a TO left

George Hill fouled immediately, misses both free throws. Heat rebound, get immediate TO, and have ball with 1.8 seconds left in the front court. WOW.
