See I had a different reaction, when I first heard Rose was hurt I was under the impression that the Bulls would blow up the team AND trade Rose. I didnt think of them actually bringing in another star to play with Rose. I personally think Rose is done so if they were able to trade him for a 1st round pick it would be a steal. Who knows though, I think they are tanking to in order to get a top draft pick. Perhaps they plan on drafting a top guy, add a guy like Carmelo and have Rose return. Who knows though
The only way Melo ends up in Chicago is through a trade, Melo is not going to take less money to go to a team where the franchise player is injured.
Haha fixed. Yeah, I dunno. If I'm the bulls, I consider trading Rose because the dude can't stay healthy to save his life. If I'm the knicks I'm trying to trade for Rose while his value is low. Rose & Melo together could be deadly.
I think the Bulls will try to shop Rose before the trade deadline, if not then after the season. I dont know his value though, bulls management would not be doing their job though if they dont take a look around and see if they can pull some draft picks from a team.
that's the only way any of this makes sense -- get rid of Rose as well. but last time they blew up the team at the end of the Jordan era how did that work out for them? blowing up teams hardly ever pays off, so this is a dumbass move either way. which I am glad to see. if they are just trying to save money over the next couple of seasons, I don't see how having a shitty team that pisses fans off helps them if they lose revenue from people just not showing up. this is simply a move to save money that makes the team bad. what they needed to do was try to replace Rose and improve the team, not get rid of everyone that makes the team competitive waiting for their best player to return. fans aren't going to feel better about the team and flock to the games and buy merchandise because they have a lower payroll.
http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/stor...and-why-tom-thibodeau-unhappy-luol-deng-trade Thibodeau is frustrated, I have no clue what exactly Chicago is planning. I think the front office wants to tank which could give them a top pick. Then heading into 2014 they would have Rose returning, a top draft pick, and money to spend in free agency on a possible superstar. Doubt this works, I know Thibs isnt going to tank for no one, he will coach that team and try to get a playoff spot in the weak east.
Come on Thibs, walk on Chicago and come back home to NY to coach. (Although I'm not a HUGE Thibs fan since he has trouble managing minutes but Woodson has the same problem so I'll take the strengths Thibs has with that weakness instead of Woodson)
Is this tweet true, I haven't been watching the second game: CJ Fogler @cjzero 23m TNT tidbit - Brian Shaw will not allow his players to wear a signature shoe if they are playing that player. No KDs vs OKC
Am I the only one not sold on this inevitable Heat-Pacers conference showdown? All I keep hearing is how its a done deal, I dont think it is at all.
Well at around December 31st, the Nets and Knicks had 4 less wins a piece. The Pacers/Heat should be HEAVY favorites to make the ECF. That doesn't mean it's guaranteed, but it would be a huge disappointment for either team to lose before the ECF (barring a major injury) The nickname jersey game is on, Nets vs Miami in BK. Heat are losing by 10 in the 3rd. Ray Allen has J. Shuttlesworth on the back of his jersey, but the two best jerseys are
yep, just came to post about the Nets and if heat/pacers is not the ECF, that'd be a significant upset
It would be a significant upset for all those predicting it, but to me it wouldnt be a significant upset.
Why not? Do you have an reasoning or are just hoping one of the teams doesn't make it. There's always a chance one of them misses, but they should be favorites to win their 1st round and 2nd round match ups. The difference between MIA and the 3rd place team is 7.5 games. The difference between 3rd place team and the 8th place team is 5. The East is weak and it would be a major disappointment for both IND and MIA to miss it. Lebron just lost it on the foul. He rarely loses it
JJ misses 2 pointer in a tie game with 14 seconds left, Truth then misses it. Overtime! (I'm trying to get into the nickname night)
Not really, a lot of these teams can play against each other, the Pacers have a team that is built to go big. All it would take is for the Pacers to run into a team that goes small and is able to hit there shots from the outside and force the Pacers to change the way they play. I would watch out for the Washington Wizards in the second half of this season, I think they could impose a real dilemma.
It takes more than that, you need to get open shots and be able to contain IND's big lineup defensively. That's why it would be an upset. The Pacers and Heat should be favored to reach the ECF.
Yes really, those teams are by far and away the best in the conference. If you would not be surprised by an upset, great, but it still would be an upset, just like the Knicks winning last night was an upset, even if someone predicted it. I would not be surprised if in a month you guarantee a heat/pacers ECF and then you're right either way.
