I don't think over confidence will be a problem. I'm sure they are confident though like they were for the Bills which is a good thing. Rex will have them focused and ready to go. They really want to prove people wrong and get rid of the negativity. It will take more than beating the Bills to do that.
You just made a different prediction not even an hour ago... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2568935&postcount=20 make up your mind yet buddy?
Special teams for the Jets need to come on super strong. Our running game including Tebow need to step it up and extend plays, keep their D on the field till they wear out. We win if and only if we minimize mistakes and control the clock
We shoul utilize out TE's like Dallas did o nuetralize JPP and bump Woodley/Harrison then run some short routes to slow down their blitz
Ken Laird @Ken_Laird Reporter began question to LB LaMarr Woodley "You haven't been 0-2 since 2002" Woodley interrupts "We won't be 0-2" #Steelers
The Steelers really aren't as good as their reputation. They had no semblance of a running game against Denver and their defense is vastly overrated. Ben will make plays, but the Bermuda Triangle (assuming Revis is healthy) should shut down their wideouts. I have a good feeling about this game. If we play like we did against the Jills, Pittsburgh has no chance.
Consistency has always been a problem with this team... We saw their potential Sunday, and if they can play like that for even 75% of the year, this team is definitely a playoff contender. If Revis is healthy, I like the way we matchup vs the steelers. I think our safeties are athletic enough to cover Miller, who has mostly been a problem vs us, and I think or 3 CBs matchup vs their 3 receivers better than anyone in the leagues. Cro can handle a speed guy like Wallace, Revis is Revis and KW should matchup well vs Sanders. They dont really have a speed RB (unless they plan on using Rainey a lot), so as long as we remember how to tackle, our run defense should be fine. Their OL is shit and as long as we can take Ben down, I dont see how we cant get 4 sacks. If the OL protects Sanchez vs a semi depleted front 7, the offense should be fine.
The Steelers have great WRs but they are small speed guys. After Landry lights one of them up coming across the middle I think we start to see a bunch of T-Rex arms.
I think Coples could have a huge game against this OL, would be surprised if he got his first sack in this one.
Well big Ben can keep plays alive. Couple that with our stellar speed at LB it could be a problem. I think a lot of folks are Over confident about this game. I had the jets penciled in for 5-11 this year, a win in Pitt will prove me wrong about the entire year. Honestly wouldn't mind that of course.
Dan Leberfeld @jetswhispers Jets might get a big break. James Harrison and T. Polamalu both sat out of practice today, and writer Gerry Dulac says both might not play. _____________________ Those two out be HUGE
If they're both out I'd almost advocate holding Revis out no matter what. While the Steelers will be tough regardless I'd rather not risk our best player when the Steelers are down 2 of theirs. Edit* And as I post I see this: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8374324/pittsburgh-steelers-linebacker-james-harrison-says-play Steelers LB James Harrison returning Pittsburgh Steelers five-time Pro Bowl linebacker James Harrison will play in the team's home opener against the New York Jets on Sunday, according to a report. Harrison, who sat out the entire preseason and the team's Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos with a left knee injury, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Thursday that he will return for this weekend's game. Coach Mike Tomlin had indicated earlier this week that Harrison, who underwent a minor procecdure on the knee last month, had a chance to play against the Jets. The 34-year-old Harrison has grown frustrated by lingering knee issues and has grown so tiresome of the subject he's promised only to address it one day a week during the season. Harrison called himself a "game-time decision" before the Broncos, but could only watch from the sideline in a yellow T-shirt and black shorts as the Steelers lost in Denver for the second time in nine months. The Steelers could certainly use him on Sunday against the Jets (1-0). New York exploded for 48 points while whipping Buffalo in its opener even with new acquisition Tim Tebow playing in a limited role. Tebow lit up Pittsburgh while beating the Steelers in the playoffs last winter as quarterback for the Broncos. He's firmly behind starter Mark Sanchez in New York, though Tomlin warned the Jets just showed "the tip of the iceberg" when it comes to their plans for the versatile Tebow this season. Pittsburgh hasn't started a season 0-2 since 2002, though that didn't stop the Steelers from finishing 10-5-1 and making it to the divisional round of the playoffs. The Steelers haven't even lost consecutive games since a five-game slide in 2009. They pride themselves on their resilience, but will need it against New York. Damn
Who cares if they're playing, they obviously won't be playing at their absolute best. Same as if Revis were playing.
