So I guess this is now the "Namath Overrated?" Thread,Great job NyJunc if this thread was Conair you would have been one of the inmates, great hijacking skills you should change your name to Syrus The Virus
No 'F' Namath. If you want to blame anyone for the hijack sec314, blame nyjunc. Wahoo was totally on-topic and expressing his opinion about Francesa's take on Rex Ryan which didn't jibe with junc's precious opinion at which point, junc felt compelled to flame Wahoo by mocking the New York Jet player in Wahoo's avatar (Namath). F Namath? No. F the dirtbag that needlessly brought Namath into this thread for the purpose of bashing and trashing him with his broken record parroting. Blame the troll. on-topic: This is amusing: click on the YouTube video and go "full screen" - Note Parcells' plate....some veggies left...a piece of meat.... Francesa's??.......guy looks like he could give Joey Chestnut a run for his money "Say busboy?.....Mr. Francesa's plate is cleared for 'take off'..."
I understand it very well, I am not some homer like you who pretends your childhood hero was as good as you remember. I thought Ken O'Brien was great as a kid but as I got older and learned and understood the game I realize he wasn't very good. Maybe when you start understanding the game better it will happen for you? I don't post it in every thread but when it comes up I discuss it. A poster was bashing mediocrity w/ a Namath avatar, I found that funny b/c we do celebrate the mediocrity of Joe even though others pretend he was an all time great. All time great TALENT, mediocre career. you have anger issues, you may want to get that checked out. it's so funny when old men are so protective of their childhood heroes.
And, yet, not quite as funny as how protective you are of Sanchez. And how protective you were of Pennington. And Herm. Now THAT is funny.
I discuss reality, I defend those guys that helped us make many more postseasons than Joe ever did. I don't pretends any of them were great though like you guys do w/ Joe.
*smirk* Nice swing & a miss troll. Besides, I was addressing sec314 (not you) and rationally explaining the source of the hijack: you, TGG's resident attention whore.
I don't seek attention, attention comes to me b/c I am one of the best posters on the site. This is why no one knows who you are here but attacking me will help you gain the attention you seek. Good job.
Anybody who has to self proclaim themselves as "one of the best posters" on this site needs a reality check. Most posters on this site think you are merely mediocre at best. Get a life or a job or a normal sized ego or a hobby or something, you self delusional egomaniacal troll. What a nut job.
you know it, I know it, everyone knows it. It's so sad that b/c I discuss reality w/ your childhood hero(you must be in your late 40s or 50s so isn't it time to stop the hero worship?) you bash me. I feel for you. do you still have Joe posters in your room? maybe over the bed?
Congratulations. Your self proclaimed "best poster" title and $1 will buy you a newspaper. If that is what is important to you - to be a self-appointed best poster on an anonymous Jets internet forum site - you must have a very empty life. I really feel sorry for you. I also feel sorry for you in that you have to antagonize every single poster who disagrees with you on this site. I would not call you the best poster, but I would give you the title of most dogmatic, imperious, arrogant, unyielding, poster. Here is an explanation of the potential reasons why you are so stubborn with regard to your opinions that I found in an article about people who are like you: Ego boost - something has gone terribly wrong, and this person needs a constant ego boost. Somehow, even though they know people disagree with them, there is a boost in knowing they can get rid of differing viewpoints whenever they pop up. Fear - maybe they think people will view them as stupid, dumb, or uneducated if they allow dissenting viewpoints on their articles. If you need the acceptance of complete strangers to every thought you have, something deeper is at issue. Selfishness - the only view that matters is their view, right or wrong, substantiated or not, documented or not. There is no argument but their own, and anyone who tries quickly learns who's the center of the universe! Interference - they don't want any. They have an agenda for their views, and anybody who might get in the way of their goal will be thrown by the wayside. Superiority complex - quite frankly, anyone who opposes their viewpoint must be a freaking idiot, and not worthy of being put on their page. But you'd think this would make them look smarter, so perhaps they really are feeling quite inferior. Inferiority complex- this also has to do with ego, and needing a boost. Whatever they do, they feel it's not good enough. If I voice a differing viewpoint to theirs, they take it as a personal attack. Lack of knowledge - they suddenly realize they're totally clueless about the topic they've been spouting on and on about. They don't want to appear like an idiot, so they delete whatever might make them appear to be anything less than godly. This of course makes them look like an idiot, unwilling to learn something new. Lack of sources - they have nothing to back up their statements, and they aren't going to start trying to prove their points anytime soon. There is nothing substantiated about their claims, and they don't want people to know this. Inability to admit defeat - they're outgunned on their own point, and they happen to be sore losers. There's nothing quite like being a party pooper, I always say! Reality questioned - the thoughts in our heads and the things we believe form our understanding of the world, and reality itself. If I have a differing viewpoint, maybe the mere idea throws this person's "reality" into question. Perhaps they're unwilling to admit to themselves that they're living in a false reality. Escapism - after all, they just want to rant and rave and have their say with nobody questioning, for once. This is their space, and they get to live in their own world here. Control - they have it and you don't. It makes them feel powerful and bigger than they really are. There's obviously something wrong when mere opinions cannot be tolerated.
this is so meta, junc is the mike francesa of this message board and he's doing his schtick inside the mike francesa thread. my mind is blown
that title and $1 will not only get me the newspaper but the Sunday newspaper! Ego boost? I don't have ego issues, don't need a boost. fear? what would I have to be afraid of? selfishness? hmm, maybe a little. interference? no, I just toss aside weak arguments like yours. superiority complex? It's not my intention but you guys make me feel superior. inferiority complex? I am supremely confident in everything I do. lack of knowledge? obviously this isn't true. lack of sources? b/c I don't have some random quotes about ability? You'd be surprised who my sources are in real life actually and I have posted the millions of overrated lists Joe is on. Inability to admit defeat? I have an issue here, I am fighter, I have a hard time admitting defeat. I don't have a loser's mentality. You better bring it if you want me to admit I am wrong, unfortunately random quotes on ability don't impress me when I know he had all time great ability. reality questioned? Clearly you are still earing your Joe underoos so you lack reality when it comes to this subject. escapism? I have nothing to escape from, beautiful family, great job, etc... control? I don't need control, it's just I usually control these arguments b/c I bring knowledge to them while you bring your boyhood crush. Great job art deflecting from your weak arguments. I applaud you. this doesn't help that Joe's teammates questioned him and thought he was holding them back, he led us to only 2 playoff apps in years 2nd place team was .500, threw 9 INTs in late 3 game losing streak to choke away playoff spot in 1967, threw 47 more INTs than TDs, won only 2 playoff games(one of them D allowed just 7 pts and we ran all over opponent- I know that was only b/c Bal was scared of Joe and they let us run), losing career record, etc... but hey- Lombardi and Madden said he had great ability so that trumps actual on field play. Ryan Leaf had ability too.
come on, you can be pretty funny. That was weak. I can take shots at me but at least make them funny. Not one of your best efforts.
Gotta agree with Al from paramus. Peyton CANNOT lose to the Colts, if he were to fall to the Colts it would be brutal, it would also validate Irsays decision to move on from him imo.
Ken O'Brien is the most underrated player in Jet history. For a period, he was as good a QB as they ever had. It didn't last long enough and he got sacked too many times, but he was a tremendous thrower. And the way they gave Boomer his number when he was still on the team was so insulting and unforgivable. When Boomer explains it, he just sounds like not a good guy. Coslet telling the Jet press that everyone knows the Jet QB stinks, was so classless and not true on top of it. Only reason Coslet made the playoffs one year was cause O'Brien threw two tremendous passes vs. Miami with the game on the line to get him there. He belongs in the Jet Ring of Honor.
I guess you also don't realize that quoting Ralph Kramden in a self aggrandizing manner is completely inappropriate. Are you going to tell us that Ed Norton composed Swanee River next?
