Evan Roberts is fine....Benigno on the other hand has gotten kinda redundant and overexggerates everything. The best host on WFAN is actually John Jastremski even though he gets crazy with his Dolphin fandom and loves when the Jets fail. if you can get past that, you have the best host in WFAN just because he's young, passionate and handles crazy callers well.
boomer and cartin are funny, joe and evan are different and they are at least in their own dorky kid and old guy way fun. i cant stand much of anyone else on the fan, the schmoozer is just fucking brutal, jastremski is annoying, malousis is frustrating. jody mac is decent and could have been a decent host if he didnt get paired with that cunt of a beast. so yeah of the current group of radio personalities on the fan joe and evan would be the ones for the afternoon at this point. they are surely much much better than mike and his old tired bullshit.

After all the years of web-sites, blogs, parodies and you-tube "highlights" people are listening in the hopes of hearing the latest gaffe, malapropism, misdirected rant, screw-up, mushed pick, prank call etc. It's like everyone is in on this great "inside" joke. And the best part of it is that Mike really thinks the ratings reflect his status as the "King of NY Sports". He's really the butt of everyone's inside joke.
Anyone on WFAN in that timeslot will have those ratings, put Michael Kay on WFAN at that timeslot and he'll pull huge ratings. I don't understand how anyone can listen to him, he just cuts everyone off, doesn't let them finish a point, he's arrogant. I've listened to him maybe twice in the last year, coming off a miserable Jets loss just to hear what he had to say. But to listen to him daily? That would be torture.
WFAN is NY sports and always has been, ESPN radio is late to the party and will always be second in the crucial time-slots no matter who is hosting.

Boomer isn't great regarding the Jets. Always get the impression he somehow thinks he got the short end in his years for the Jets. Meanwhile, the guy was part of the absolute biggest no class move in Jet history, when he took Kenny O'Brien's number when the guy wasn't even gone yet. Carton is great with the Jets, he's legitimately a Jet fan. I loved today, big mouth Francesa had to admit that Jet fans overwhelmingly wanted Rex back. Know that bothers him. Never heard a guy who for years was all about, "you don't give wins back in the NFL and you are what your record says you are," yap about that the Jets had 7 wins going into today but could have been 5.

Jets, Jets Most talk show hosts are really boring and add very little to the sports conversation. Francesa has a clue and even though he is rude sometimes and a know it all he actually has some real sports knowledge. However, he really read the Jets especially Idzik wrong. Idzik knows that the future is in developing a young QB. Retaining the same staff means that Smith does not have to start over with a new system. He will try to add some receivers in free-agency and maybe draft one. Expect that Rex will not be running the defense next year. Putting a rookie like Milliner one on one all the time made him an easy target. Interceptions come mostly in zone coverage. That's why the Jets have so few picks. He needs a fresh look and Idzik will be looking for more variety in the staff in the coming days. Count on it.
