He got him in studio because he gave him a softball interview. Even ex-partner Russo called him out for giving A-Rod a pass on the tough questions.
He tried to pay off the same people that Major League Baseball did which is more hilarious than anything and he tried to hide evidence. A Rod originally said he had no idea who Bosch was and never dealt with him ever. Now hes talking about how its for some dietary supplement. He's clearly lying and Selig seems pretty sure its going to go pretty smoothly in court. Still doesnt mean he deserves 211 games but I get why its more than 50.
MLB wanted A-Rod to be the "crown jewel" of it all. They say they would bring the hammer down on him and he would get a lifetime ban. It was most likely a leverage play to get him to the table. When he did not, he got that sentence. It is a career ender in disguise. He now is basically throwing his middle fingers up at MLB and fighting it. MLB would have been better off giving the same as Braun.

I just want to see the evidence. If they have damning evidence against Aroid, then present it. I don't understand why the commissioner is scared to testify. If he's got nothing to hide, what's the big deal? He suspended Aroid 4x longer than the other guys, he should have to justify it. This is why baseball is a joke.
For the better of the Yanks I am ok with the suspension but it is a joke that he is getting all these extra games so Bud can make an example of him and go out in ablaze of glory from one of the worst jobs any commissioner has ever done.

I don't like Bud, but people are fooling themselves in saying he is an awful commisioner. He is hired by the owners, for the owners and represents no one but the owners. Baseball is a league of 30 private companies. And Selig has delivered them record attendance and record profits - thus he did his job. As for the courts ever doing anything for A Rod, that is a long shot. The entire binding arbitration process was agreed to through good faith collective bargaining between MLB and A Rod's union the Players Association. This isn't a public trial. There is nothing in the agreement that states selig has to testify anywhere. The courts honor the entirety of the collective bargaining agreement.
Yeah, but what you must remember is that historically the commissioner was not a representative of the owners but was charged solely with looking out for the best interests of the game itself. Having an owner in the commissioner's office would be a capital crime to commissioners of the past.
This is true. But the blame for this goes 100% on the shoulders of the owners, not Selig. Remeber, he was a temporary fix for the job and only ater became permanent.
