Oh yeah he got the surgery before going to the Yankees. I completely forgot there was HGH "speculation" involved.

Beltre had three homers in the first four innings of tonight's game against the Orioles.

Chris Sale struck out 13 in 7 and 2/3 against the Yankees.

incredible diving catch off a dead sprint by Justin Christian, robbing Juan Rivera of an extra base hit

looks like the Giants will sweep LA

Still wish we would have kept him way back.

Second time they've come back from a great road trip to shit the bed at home. Long way to go, luckily, I had the feeling halfway through game 2 that we might get swept.

It's really funny watching them just offload all 3. Beckett is done but you have to think a change of scenery will do both Crawford and Gonzalez good. It's amazing how fast the Sox have gone from WS Contenders to garbage. They're still a notch above the Mets but right now they're about as dysfunctional of a franchise.

I really want to see how much money Boston sends to LA in this deal. I don't think anybody has ever sent 50 million in one deal but if LA doesn't insist on at least that then they are even more stupid then Boston was in taking on these contracts. The only person they really want is Gonzales and are only agreeing to the other two in order to get him.

Adam Dunn now has as many homers as he does singles this season.

They're getting around $10-12 million from Boston. As soon as we find a taker for Lackey the Sox payroll drops almost $70 million from opening day. This one trade dropped it almost $60 million on it's own(21,21,17). If Lackey is dealt then going into the offseason the Sox go from 7 $10+ million players to 0 since Dice-K comes off the books and Ortiz is a FA. Too bad there's nothing to spend it on since there's hardly any good FA's if any in 2013 that's worth signing.

I'm surprised they're sending any money at all; A-Gonz is a huge upgrade over Loney (who they've been trying to get rid of for decent value for a while now) and de la Rosa's got upside but he's a question mark.

it's mostly a salary dump of course they're sending money.

No team wants the beckett and crawford contracts, especially when you consider Crawford won't even play this season.

Wow, it's madness. The crowd gave him a standing ovation then he homers. They all just had a press conference on the field after the game. SF lost so we're -2 right now.

Can't believe the Red Sox made the move. It will probably help them in the long run, but they turned themselves into a team that can't have "throw away" years but they just had one.

    Other notes from last night:

Ethier hit safely in 10 straight ABs (just stuck out today in the 1st)

Kershaw went 8, gave up 3 hits, only a disputed infield hit after the 2nd

Kemp broke out of a slump with 3 hits

    Adrian Beltre is unbelievably hot.

12 for his last 24, with 6 homers and 12 RBI!

Homered and doubled in his first two PAs vs. David Price tonight, and of course he had the 3 homer game and the cycle (player of the week for last week).

Huge comeback by the Cubs to beat Milwaukee.

9-3 Brewers in the middle of the 6th. Cubs win 12-11
