The point is that it makes no sense to enter a season with a coach on such a short leash. I've never heard of a coach being fired for poor performance in preseason games, so that's not exactly logical either. I doubt even the Lakers would argue that they took that much into account. Zach Lowe's article on it: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-t...ns-firing-is-lunacy-but-heres-why-it-happened
Jim buss is an asshole. He's gonna f things up in the L.A. franchise because of his ego. I wish Jeannie would run the ship.
John Buccigross @Buccigross Rajon Rondo: at least 10 assists in 34th straight game tonight in Detroit. Got it with 50 seconds left down 21 points. Rondo is one of the most aware players regarding his own stats or at least most obvious about it. LeBron used to be obvious too.
The changing of the guards is happening in the east. Knicks Nets and Bucks are on the rise, while Atlanta, Orlando, Boston and Indiana are falling. It's much different than I anticipated. Chicago will eventually climb back to the top 3 as will Miami. It will probably be those 3 battling for the top spots, with the Nets and Bucks not too far behind. Celtics will probably get a 7th or 8th seed, while philly gets 5 or 6. I think it will end up something like this: 1. Heat 2. Knicks 3. Bulls All three will be close. The order is just a guess. It depends when Rose gets back, really. 4. Nets 5. Sixers 6. Bucks These three will be pretty close as well 7. Celtics 8. Hawks (or another mystery team, maybe Pacers battle back and slip in playoffs) These 2 will be near or slightly above .500. Looks like Dantoni got the Lakers back to .500 after a 1-4 start. Good to see him having some success over there.
you forgot wallace. I was going to post it here but then I remembered the Nets thread. Also, from that OKC blowout: Thunder had a 70-17 run vs. the Bobcats.
Poppovich still doing his tanking routine. Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, and Green not playing tonight in Miami. Leonard and Jackson have been out with injuries so the Spurs are actually missing six regulars.
Also no assist streak. No more garbage of getting 4 assists down 20 in the 4th to the Pistons to extend the streak. Can't wait for his interview with Sager inbetween quarters. So much fun.
they're saying Barkley will do the interviews? also, Stern: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...bili-danny-green-gregg-popovich-heat/1736221/ lol Poppovich did the same thing three times last season, and twice was on national TV
Spurs lead after 3 (there was a game last season like this as well. I think vs. Utah. The Spurs played the Jazz very close). Poppovich is doing it for two reasons: A)He likes to give all his players rest at the same time. He's been tanking games for years. B)The game is on TNT, so he gets to give everyone the finger on national TV.
lol what's Stern going to say if the Spurs somehow win it? Fine them for not having players in suits on the bench?
this turned into a classic game I don't know why LeBron was dribbling out the shot clock there. You want to shoot before 30 seconds so you can get the ball back.
