Lakers/Spurs locked in a close one in the third quarter. The Lakers have had it all this season.

They had no frontcourt, when Gasol, Howard, and Hill all got injured at about the same time.

And now they're finishing the season without their guards. Nash and Kobe played heavy minutes because the team has no real bench.

They may make the playoffs anyway, but I don't see them winning more than 2 games against their first round opponent.

Lakers win and are now a win or a Utah loss away from the 8th seed.

Very unlikely that Utah wins both and Lakers lose to Houston.

    Gasol was 3/17

Parker was 1/10 before sitting out most of the second half. Maybe he aggravated something, maybe he was just resting.

Parker has been nicked up a ton. If I'm the Spurs, I am scared of the Lakers. Dwight Howard can carry a team (remember the Magic) and make matchups annoying vs teams. I still think the Spurs should be favored and should win 4-2 at worst, but Dwight is going to be annoying

Spurs dropped to the 2 seed. OKC will play LA.

Spurs are clearly in a funk and are a mess, I hope we draw the Warriors in the first round.

Spurs were very likely to avoid the Lakers either way.

Win and they would be tied with OKC for #1, but OKC owns the tiebreak and would control their own destiny (home games vs. SAC and MIL). A win would also endanger LA's playoff chances.

Lose and they have no realistic chance at the 1, meaning they avoid the Lakers anyway.

I don't think the Lakers would beat the Spurs in a series, but it'd be a better matchup than OKC.

oh wow I wasn't paying attention to the West.

I did read if the Lakers win out and the Warriors I think lose out the Lakers can grab the 7 seed?

    true, I didn't realize

    Golden State has been falling.

Warriors need to lose 2+Lakers win vs. Houston=SA/Lakers first round

They'd be tied for the 7th seed, but LA went 3-1 HTH, and would thus win the tiebreaker.

NBA has cancelled the IND@BOS game for tomorrow night. It will not change the seeding in the East in anyway.

Can't Brooklyn catch Indiana for the third seed? They would hold the tiebreaker.

First tiebreaker is division winner is placed ahead of a non division winner so they would have to win outright which they can't do since they lost to the Raptors on Sunday

    oh yeah, you're right

I knew that too. I was looking into it on Thursday morning to see who I should pick to advance from Memphis/Clippers.

But then last night I was looking at SA/OKC and first tiebreak is HTH

    so yeah, meaningless for seeding

Phoenix up 10 on Houston. Golden State about to tip against San Antonio (6 seed up for grabs).

Clippers a half game back for HCA against Memphis.

Utah beat Minnesota, so they are still alive for the last playoff spot in the West.

watching NBA TV. They use home announcers, and GS announcers call 30 second timeouts "the infectious disease 30 second timeout"

can that really be a sponsor?

Golden State now has a 1 game lead over the Rockets for the 6.

    Likely Rockets/Spurs round 1, Nuggets/Warriors.

Steph Curry about to break Ray Allen's record for threes in a season.

Curry and Thompson already shattered the threes record for a pair of teammates, last week.

    Curry 13/23 tonight, 7/13 for 3. 35 points

Thompson is tied for second in the league in threes made per game, at 2.6. Curry has 3.4 (a tick higher now, given his 7 tonight).
