Kobe is asking Howard to play through the pain and saying Howard cares too much what fans think. Obviously Kobe would say that.

Yeah, I mean the Lakers could small ball with the Celtics since the Celtics really have no bigs.

sounds like Howard will play. He was upgraded from questionable to probable.

Also, Noah and Boozer probable for the late game at Denver.

ESPN announcer just argued that no team has or will offer "fair value" for KG. They obviously didn't see the Bledsoe rumors.

Howard looked awful. Celtics now 6-0 without rondo.

Rumor was KG isn't going anywhere unless he gets to bring Paul Pierce with him.

Denver is crazy good at home.

They run a lot and no one can stay with them in the altitude.

Wilson Chandler 5/5 for 3. McGee and Faried with a bunch of dunks.

TNT guys were saying how great the Carmelo trade was for Denver.

It was, but they forgot Wilson Chandler. They mentioned Mozgov and Gallinari.

Funny they'd ignore Chandler, especially when he's lighting it up.

Shaq is more full of #&^$&# than anyone. Holy smokes.

    This TNT postgame is priceless.

He loves to rip Dwight Howard, so Shaq goes on a long diatribe about how he [Shaq] was raised as a warrior, and that if he could walk, he would play. If it wouldn't get worse by playing, he'd play.

He's trying to rewrite his entire career!

AND NO ONE CALLED HIM ON IT!

Do these clowns not remember Shaq's career?

I even found an article from February 2003, where Phil Jackson publicly called out Shaq for refusing to play through pain.

Man, I wish I were in the studio.

    Shaq quit on the Lakers.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaq–Kobe_feud#Final_years_as_teammates

He deliberately delayed the surgery so as to miss more games. This guy is the worst. Not only did he do that, but he has the gall to go on TNT and tell the world about what a warrior he was.

And, on Shaqtin' the fool, Shaq put a bunch of ugly free throws on there, making fun of guys for poor free throw shooting

Shaq also said he never airballed a free throw. This clip says otherwise. And this one.

How does that have anything to do with the topic at hand?

Your response has nothing to do with the topic at hand. While mine was not detailed, it has everything to do with the topic at hand. Shaq has a right to speak, not only is he 1 of the greatest centers of all time, he was also 1 of the most dominant of his time. His 02-03 season, the same season being questioned, Shaq put up 27 and 11. So, while he may be hypocritical, he has the stats and rings to back up his talk.

it doesn't matter how many rings he has. The point is, he's a liar and a hypocrite.

He claimed to be a warrior, who would always play through pain and if he could walk, he would play.

He has no right to criticize someone else for supposedly not playing through pain.

It would be like JFK getting on his soapbox and bashing people for cheating on their wives. It wouldn't matter how great a president he was, he'd still be a hypocrite (and a liar if he pulled the Shaq approach and preached about how faithful he was). Having been a great player doesn't excuse lies and hypocrisy.

deathstar's reply does have to do with the topic at hand.

Great, Shaq is a hypocrite. So if you got hurt on the job, would you not take time off from YOUR job? Yes you would. Would you not also claim disability? Yes you would. Please don't even start that "oh but hes getting paid millions to play a sport". Point is, he got surgery which is true, and he came back and dominated, which is also true.

He is an ANALYST. His job is to criticize. Its like saying, well the reporter has no right to say anything because he never played sports.

At the end of the day, you can complain about him being a hypocrite all you want, he still gave his team his all. So you can show me Shaq being a hypocrite and ill raise you 4 championship rings.

PS - He didn't quit on the Lakers. He knew he and Kobe could not coexist. He left, moved on with his career and won another ring. Don't see anything wrong with it.

No, it's completely different. Shaq went on and on about how he was a warrior and always played hurt.

Except for all the times he showed up out of shape.

Yes, he quit on the Lakers. Being a professional athlete is a year round job. Shaq refused to get surgery until just before the season, so he could miss the maximum amount of time possible. That's quitting on the team.

He and Kobe couldn't coexist because Kobe was a hard worker who played through injuries and Shaq was the opposite.

Any teammate who was trying to win would be furious at Shaq's stunts.

Again, his rings are not the subject of discussion here. The facts are that he often wouldn't play through injuries, and he went on the air last night to lie about that.

I don't care if he won 16 rings, or how great a player he was. He's still a liar and hypocrite.

It's not to criticize, it's to accurately ANALYZE. Like when Charles Barkley says the Knicks suck at rebounding and they are #1 in DRR then he's criticizing like you say but that's not analyzing. That' spewing false narrative. Like Charles said he's selling the Knicks stock, he never bought the stock in the first place.

So instead of trying to make it work with Kobe he left. Funny how when you use "coexist" and left it changes everything. The rings have nothing to do with it. Having rings doesn't mean you get to lie or be a hypocrite especially when you are paid to fairly and accurately analyze basketball. You are using two different arguments. There is Shaw got 4 rings, awesome. There is Shaq rewriting his own history and telling blatant lies. One doesn't affect the other one. Like when MJ did his HOF speech and ripped everyone. Just because he has 6 rings doesn't mean anything, it was still a jerk move to do.

Shaq is the worst analyst I've ever seen. All he does is talk about himself and bash Dwight (deservedly so). Cannot stand Dwight Howard though. Shaq is right about Dwight to an extent of him being a baby and not a true center like Brook Lopez or Marc Gasol.

Shaq was an absolutely horrible hire for TNT. He never displayed coherency or intelligence during his career, so I'm not sure what credentials he had for a studio job. Apparently if you're a great player, they'll hire you even if you're a moron. See Emmitt Smith.

The TNT higher ups must've told the other guys that they can't call Shaq out on his lies, because it's hard to believe they aren't aware of his career.

Shaq absolutely cannot stand Dwight Howard and never misses an opportunity to take a shot at him.

Chris Webber was a great hire for NBA on TNT, it was better when he was there. I like Webber and how he evaluates teams. He's great on NBATV.
