Yep the league is rigged. Ah that was a fun "discussion" this past draft and playoff season.

Which one was the worst rated, the Nets or Cavs? Cavs was a sweep right?

Lakers have to turn it on a LOT to get that 8 seed or hope the 3-4 teams in front of them collapse and nobody behind them catch up. Obviously there is a chance, but now they have to win at a high pace the remainder of the season.

If Gasol returns within a week, who knows, but their chances of making the playoffs are like 10-15%.

Howard and Hill out indefinitely and Gasol was too, but he was upgraded today. He's questionable for tomorrow. Other two still out indefinitely.

Lakers now 11th and 4.5 games out. Healthy, I'd give them close to a 50% chance of making up the ground I think, because the bottom line is that they're simply better than the teams in the 6-12 range with their guys playing. As currently constituted, they're clearly worse than most of the teams.

Good point. It seems like the Lakers defense is at it's best, healthy and not healthy, when they can set up the D, not in transition. Unfortunately, D'Antoni's offensive philosophy generates lots of back and forth transition opportunities both ways. If they get Gasol back, it will allow Gasol to go in the post where he is most effective. Then stagger Howard back in there. They are having the same problems, D'Antoni had with chandler/amare, they don't know what to do with the extra big.

Announcer talking about best PF and ignores Timmy Duncan?! Outrageous. Duncan's older now, but he's averaging 17.5 and 9.5 a game.

What's with this Oden come back talk...We are supposedly interested in him...

Why the hell would we want to waste money on this injury prone individual?

    Pathetic!

Blew a 12 point lead with 6 minutes or so...

Down 2 with 10 seconds...Time to finish off the chokejob!

    Wesley Matthews daggers!

    Beautiful Portland win

LeBron fails to match the Iceman's record of consecutive games of at least 20 points.

Cavs. The boring ol' Spurs sweep the up-and-coming superstar LeBron James who was only in the finals because the entire East was as bad as it's ever been.

That's the joke that Pop's been playing on the NBA ever since Robinson retired, though, isn't it?

it's true, I always am amused when people call Duncan a power forward

AFAIC, Duncan became the center when the Admiral retired and has been ever since, with a rotating cast of "other" big men.

You could have put "big" in quotes, too. Most times, his "center" is right around the size of a PF.

Well he's a PF playing the 5 or cener position on the team. I still consider him more of a PF. Even when Gasol on LA would drop down to the 5, or Amare to the 5, I still consider them both PF who can play the C position in this day and age.

We are getting close to a "positionless" basketball teams at this point in the NBA. More and more coaches are adopting the no big men idea. The Knicks have played some lineups with Novak at the 5 this year for instance.

I guess the difference between C and PF is meaningless these days in the NBA, but I try to separate it by the range the players have. If they are >6'11" and have a lack of range, I slide them as the center in my mind, Chandler and Hibbert. If they have more range or touch, I slide them into the PF position.

Excellent price. I would bet it big except I don't like to tie up money for such a long time.

Gasol is out again tomorrow by the way.
