Nah, not him, he's not really as good a fit as people thought. There's another guy that Magilla and I are on the same page about.
I admit that I never looked at draft stuff til this mock. Curious to see what you guys feel about these midround Des. If I knew much about any of these des, id be more apt to take one. But im a big Cobb fan.
I agree. Brown has just show too little to be considered a keeper. But a transition to the 3-4 could give him a chance to prove his worth as a pass-rusher (admittedly unlikely. As of right now, he's a bust). I would think that Beason could still play inside in the 3-4. He's undersized, but he's so gifted and physically aggressive that he could still succeed. Then again, his aggressiveness could lead to him getting swallowed up by lineman. Then Davis would play inside as well right? I didn't know Hardy could project to OLB. But assuming he does, then Rivera would have Johnson and Fua as down lineman, but he would need someone to fill the LDE spot.
Not a good showing for me with two messed up picks. Gotta get my act together for the 7 rounder. Either way, both drafts came out decent. Wished the tackle value was better for the Steelers but I think getting Powe in the 2nd round is a good long term investment. Cowboys were another team I would've liked to improve the tackle position but just wasn't a player that fit value wise, although Amukamara should make an impact right away.
I understand Mack's thinking with Cobb, he's a dynamic player. The way Tanny is drafting lately to replace players...like..Leon W (McKnight) and Alan Faneca (Vlad), it wouldn't surprise me. I would have gone another route: Kenny Tate or Pernell Mcphee.
Is the no brainer of the draft (outside of the top 3) the Pouncey pick to the Steelers? It just makes complete sense. Playing along side his brother, offensive lines thrive upon being cohesive. I dunno what is more cohesive than playing along side your blood brother...also they get a big need. IDK, I loved that pick.
McPhee I thought of, as well as a few other DEs, but in a 3 round draft, I'd rather go with someone I know a good deal about. I barely know the difference between Pernell McPhee and Lawrence Guy and Cliff Matthews at this stage of the game, so I went with Cobb, who is a player I like a lot, fills a need, and I hoped would cause more conversation.
I was almost disapointed I had to make it, becasue it seems like such simple, silly Idea. It makes too much and and is raight about where he should go off the board.
The stars aligned, Miami is losing 2 RBs, they are in the right place, plus Ingram's daddy played there. Fate wants it to happen
