you're serious? Sanchez will be in his 4th year after 2011. Mangold and Brick, Harris and Revis will all be in the heart of their prime. The way this team drafts it'll find the right replacements. i don't get where you found this hypothesis from. Don't be a SOJF
You're right about the SOJ stuff but I just feel like we won't be able to build a perennial playoff-contending team. The Jets will lose 2, possibly 3 lineman in the next couple of years due to age or contract, question marks at wide receiver depending on how the Braylon Edwards experiment works out, an aged LT, and aging DE/B's. Tanny's draft strategy has worked out near flawlessly in getting the Jets top-flight playmakers at their respective position but the lack of depth is going to hurt us sooner or later. On top of that, while I think that Sanchez will be a premiere quarterback in this league, if I take away my fan-bias the jury's still out on Sanchez's talent. What it boils down to for me is that if the Jets will ever win the SB again and bury the curse, it's gotta happen sooner rather than later. If there's a lockout for 2011 then all bets are off and we can probably see ourselves at step 1 again. EDIT: On top of that, if you look back at recent history... the Jets made the AFC Championship Game just to have Testeverde blow out his achilles in the first game of the next season. I believe that was the year SI predicted us to go all the way. Anything can happen...
you're afraid that the players won't be replaced. An understandable fear. But tanny has shown that when he has 10 picks at his disposal and he doesn't use them to trade up, he makes good selections. 06 was a big draft for this team. He needs one more of those to complete this team.
I've been a Jets fan all my life, so the hope they'll make the playoffs is enough for me. I know they can do it.
New York Jets are going to be the first team to win both the AFC championship game and the NFC championship game then beat themselves in the superbowl causing all the SOJ fans to say we really lost the Superbowl.
That's awesome. I'd say the #1 seed is a bit of a stretch, Indy's still Indy, but we can beat them in the playoffs. Jets over Packers in the Super Bowl.
