Kerley was the Brad Smith insurance, although i'd def keep Smith if price right. McKnight? c'mon now.. 180lbs and no combine invite? I don't think he'll make Smith nervous.
Fine by me. If it helps us keep Baylon and Santonio, that's good. Brad Smith was a great player for us, but he's replaceable.
you sir should be a happy fucking camper right now. on the smith debate. I think the drafting of Kerley and Mcknight is nothing to worry Smith over. If its 2010 rules, Smith is an RFA and we have him for one more year. If not, then Smith will get overpaid and we cant afford to pay him that with him really being a role-star for us. We have much more valuable guys we need to sign. Mcknight is the guy patrick turner and logan payne need to worry about. At worst he will have their spot on the practice squad, if not a spot on the actual roster.
Agreed. We should know this week whether 2010 rules are even a real possibility any more. Stay gets extended, 2010 rules become all but a fairy tale.
How? He was the 28th ranked CB and only runs a 4.7 - 40. How is a CB who would struggle to keep up with many RBs and TEs (much less, WRs) a steal?
I'm still pretty steamed KC got to Gabe Miller in the 5th. But I guess It's a bit reassuring someone like Scott Pioli saw something in him too. Maybe I have a future in this business
