I'm really surprised Quan Sturdivant is still on the board. Whoever picks him is getting a major steal at ILB.
we have 2 7ths gave up our 5th and 6th. I think that was dumb but somehow I think they did that because the Pats or Bears could of picked him.
So that leaves us with 2 7ths? I badly, badly want to leave with one of these safeties. Is the consensus on Kerley that it's a good pick?
And it becomes very clear that it was Kerley who the Jets were interested in all along when they worked him out with Dalton throwing to him.
It's not dumb. We needed a slot guy and moved up for the one we wanted. ...very possible we package those sevenths together to get back into the sixth.
He'll keep improving. Don't know that I'd call him a diva. He wasn't progressing enough at receiver so they flopped him to the defensive side of the ball. Had some great catches early but also some problems with route running and drops.
I could see that. IMO there are still good WRs left on the board to stay put. Again I dont not like Kerley, getting another target for Sanchez is awesome but these safties could be gone and you know it would suck to lose out on one of these guys this late, with this value.
This has definitely been the worst Draft Rex has had. We got two possible starters in Wilkerson and Ellis which is good, but after the 3rd round we are just wasting picks. We picked a RB who will for sure be cut and we traded our 6th round pick to move up like 7 or 8 spots, when Kerley would have still been there if we stayed put. It just doesn't make sense. Thats two questionable moves right now for Tanny and Rex. We still have not addressed our need for a safety and pass rusher. Unless we bring in a veteran pass rusher, we are going to have a worse pass rush than last year. We also need a safety and we haven't picked one either. It just questions me that we pick a RB in the 5th when we have depth and we trade up when it wasn't needed to get an undersized slot receiver who won't bring us anything but good hands. This draft has not improved our chance to win the super bowl. We could potentially be going into the season next year with 3 drafted players on the roster, with Ellis potentially headed to jail.
Like I said last night, there is also a lot of talent at safety in free agency. I'm disappointed we didn't draft anyone too, but we will have options there. F8P only applies if the stay isn't extended and FA is opened up prior to the CoA taking the case. It's OLB where we have little chance to pick up a free agent.
Well, there's probably more than enough reasons why teams aren't taking these safeties. I have a feeling we'll bring in some veteran free agents to play corner and safety.
