I really wanted Aso, but this could end up being a good thing. Can't help but think of future signings and more monies available. Next year, etc. Also, wasn't 100% that Aso was a good fit.
FWIW, Vick's production may actually go down this year. For one thing, teams will have more tape on Vick this year. Also Vick's production dropped towards the end of the season as he was tired and teams started figuring him out.
With the defense we play and the late start of the season, our only options are Cromartie or Chris Carr. We still need a safety and Landry is not signed yet, close, but we know how that goes don't we. I would love a Landry/Carr signing and it would save money too.
Last report was he was close to signing a deal. Yep, your rioght @3:50 Jaguars agreed to terms with S Dawan Landry, formerly of the Ravens.
Its possible Eagles let Asante go for a 3rd. He's got some nagging injury, and he's 30, not to mention the two new CBs ahead of him. Eagles will let Asante go, and GMs know that. If they don't, then Eagles are being real dumb with that much talent in one position.
That is the key to the Eagles season. Vick can be injury prone, and if he goes down, Vince Young? yikes.
You are wrong. http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2011-07-29/jaguars-agree-to-terms-with-safety-dawan-landry
We really need Cro I think.. as good as Samuel is, he doesnt really fit Rex's style of defense I don't think. We really may have to "settle" for Cro and Braylon back instead of landing the big fish in Asomugha. I definitely think Tanny will have something up his sleeve that none of us saw something though.. maybe a pass rusher or safety, or maybe even corner. Who the hell knows..
Did they actually re-structure or was that "just in case". If it's the former than I would guess something like 13-15 million Ace in the hole is a Sanchez structure which could open up 7-9 more but I don't think there'll be a reason to since we should have enough to re-sign our guys at least.
