Antonio Cromartie and Jonathan Joseph are not going to sign until the Aso situation is settled so if we lose out on Aso we can still get a good corner in FA and still re-sign Braylon (everything looks dead on the Braylon front...maybe he's waiting on the Jets)
It would appear by the list of our FA's and Brad Smiths comments about not wanting to wait that everyone else is. It is reported the Titans came out and said they arent making any deals with their current players because of Aso right now. We are doing the same thing.
It's Haynesworth and Chad, dude. This isn't exactly groundbreaking. Jets have had by far the better off-season, if you wanna consider both the draft and the free agent period. Tannenbaum is gonna have that second corner slot sorted out one way or another, and he may have the flexibility to also bring back Edwards after that. Patience, my son.
Ha! As soon as I saw that i thought the same thing. He is actually a better receiver then Hartsock in my opinion.
Exactly, a 30 year old DL who hasn't done shit in years and a 33 year old WR. They may get a decent year out of Chad but this isn't Randy Moss coming to the Pats.
It's so funny to see fans of the rival team try to demean the acquisitions of their enemy. Haynesworth and Ochocinco are solid additions. If we land Aso, Pat fans will bust out the "who's going to cover Gronkowski" ammo.
Okay cool the Jets can take out Ocho and Welker with Aso and Revis..but who's going to cover Hernandez, Gronkowski, Tate, Branch, Woodhead, Faulk, Edelman, Green-Ellis, Price, and Morris at the same time?
It is crazy to think we are looking to sign two of the biggest free agents of the year. In a new CBA with a lockout. And we already locked one of them up.
I know we are all in for Namdi, but does anyone have any thoughts on another raider, Zach Miller? Keller and Miller would create a lot of problems for defenses. And it would be nice to have a well rounded tight end who is good at everything so Keller can be more of a receiver.
Miller would be a great addition but he'll command a fat contract. His value is known around the league, I highly doubt we'll even inquire (then again, Mike Tannenbaum is the most unpredictable GM I've ever followed). We need to resolve our #2 WR before even thinking of adding a quality TE, which one could argue we don't need.
Well what if Cotchery is the #2 which he's been most of his career. I agree it's not a need and he will get paid but knowing Tannenbaum he might love the flexibility that a real tight end would give the offense. Keller is still probably at his best lined up like Gates. Miller and Keller create all sorts of mismatches like the Pats offense last year.
So do you guys think we keep Ellis or is he a goner??? and by the way David Harris can probably keep up with Gronkowski if not then we just throw Lowery\Wilson on him...
See if he will come back for the veteran minimum. Jets have a ton of defensive lineman, may not be a spot. Pouha, Devito, Mohammed, Ripo, Gilbert, Kenrick Ellis.
