im not saying theres been any blockbusters weve missed out on. but the fact they wouldnt even think to ask thomas or pace to re-structure? that made me snap and make the initial post. anybody know their cap hits? isnt pace round 7 or 8 and thomas 4 or 5?
well lets just say we tie up all our money with Aso and lose most of our role players. aso tears his acl and the jets are left with a fat contract and their dick in their hands theres alot more to this situation than WOW REVIS AND ASO OMGZ!!!!!
yes that is exactly what people are saying. sigh. Look at some of the facts here. Can he help, sure he can help, I doubt anyone would be against have him as the second CB. But at what price, he is 30 years old. The Jets do have other holes they have not yet filled at safety, OLB, and WR. Do you invest that much money at CB and just put JAGs at the other spots. Pool is not signed, nor is Smith, on offense you lose Edwards, on ST you lose Brad Smith, but yea...they have two number one CBs. That is the concern of some and i can certainly understand that. He is going to demand big dollars for a number of years alongside Revis.
I really hope they find a way to bet Braylon Edwards back on this team. If Randy Moss finds his way on this team I will feel so disgusted. I have always disliked Randy Moss. I would fucking hate to see him on my team.
Exactly. A player can go down for the year on the 1st or 2nd snap of the season (Vinny in 1999). It's all about putting your team in position to win a super bowl during the draft, free agency and sometimes through trades. As of right now? Aso upgrades our chances of having a never seen defense before. I take Aso over Cromartie and Edwards combined. Anything @ WR after the addition of Aso would be a huge bouns for the Jets.
you can think that way. in fact its Tannenbaums job to think that way. 20 percent of the cap at 1 position as sexy as the move is in madden you have to think about every possible scenario other than what works out best for the jets
well being the verteran darksider i will be praying daily that this doesn't turn into a 1999 redux.... jil
my god some of you guys are just impossible to please. this morning i bet half of the people on here figured santonio was a goner and were resigned to hopefully signing edwards. then tone was signed and again half of you were convinced that his cap hit would cripple us and we wouldn't be doing anything else. just let this play out for once instead of freaking out over every minute detail
lol im extremely positive. hell id be ecstatic if we got him. just think this place needs some devils advocate instead of the aso candlelight vigil
Breaston signs with KC, Sidney Rice Seattle, Redskins sign a few WRs. Where does this put Braylon? Any chance that his value is going down a little, or is it that Braylon is waiting to see if the Aso signing falls through, so that he has a shot with the Jets?
Doesn't sound good when you put it that way but it sounds excellent if you think of the potential. What Rex can do if he's got Revis and Aso at the flanks is terrifying. Mathematically it may be 20% of the cap but the implications it will have on this defense are astronomical. If they get hurt.. oh well. Life goes on, and the Jets will be ok. If Sanchez got hurt though.. that's different.
