    Manny Lawson

Earlier this year I wrote that he's a guy I'd like to see the Jets get. With a change of scenery and better coaching, I believe he can become a good player.

I also think that the Jets have done their research on where Plax is as far as football shape.

I'm shocked he signed so quickly with the Jets after the long visit with Pitt yesterday.

Sharper will be 36 in November and he was only able to play in 8 games last year. There's not much left in the tank.

Has there been any info from the Jets FO on why they have/had no interest in Braylon? I'm just curious if it's about his asking price or something else.

Cro is gonna take his sweet time...Try to count how his child support bills coincide with this potential deal.

Sharper would have been good a couple of years ago. I definitely agree with this.

We may never hear any concrete reasons. My take is that Edwards can be immature and his legal issues are a concern. Also, he is apparently not a great teammate. Mind you, he might not be a cancer, either.

Burress, Holmes, Cro and Heap would be a solid FA given the Aso debacle. Fingers crossed we get Cro back.

I would bring Sharper in on a non-guaranteed contract. Why not, it's the best he's gonna get. If he's shown serious decline then cut him at the end of TC. If he's half of what he was in 2009 than that's a game changer

It's most likely about the money. The Jets probably view CB as more of a priority and feel Burress, if in shape, can do what Braylon does.

And I agree CB is more of a priority right now.

If he can be had for a low cost, then I'm not opposed to him coming aboard. I couldn't expect much, though.

Now that we got Plax on a one-year deal I'd actually be okay with overpaying Cromartie a little, particuarly since there seems to be little else out there. The fact that he was our second choice won't mean diddly when the season starts, he did wait for us after all - if he was so bitter he'd have just checked out the first couple days of FA.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind a little more OL depth (not to mention an actual backup QB) but you can't have everything.

Exactly, I would expect him to be a TC cut. But he's a kind of a guy you have the kick the tires on.

Yeah, Burress is cheaper than Edwards and probably could do just as good a job. Burress won't be as good in helping out with run blocking but he is a better pass catcher.

Also, CB is more important right now than WR. Heck, CB is almost always more important than WR.
