Just what we needed, to play the Patriots in the third road game in a row, and one week after the Ravens game. And I HATE Jets-Giants on Christmas Eve. It's really not that big a deal for me in terms of family concerns, since I do my stuff on Christmas Day. But if I didn't have tickets to the game, I'd be really annoyed I couldn't enjoy a normal Sunday of football, watching with some Giants and Jets fans and having a good time. That would be a really fun week on its own. I totally agree with Francesa on this. The more I've thought about it, the less I care, since it doesn't affect me personally that much. But I still don't like it.
Jets are playing at Denver on a Thursday night in November per a twitter report.....I hate those short weeks..
Bye week is week 8. Good spot IMO. Let's hope they change shit up this season with the bye week. They've been flat due to the time off they get. They can't "get away from football" this season and expect to return and kick ass. Rex needs them to be sharper coming off the bye week.
I never ever agree with the Fat Man, but I do here. I have not heard what he said, but having the Jets play the Giants on Christmas Eve is ridiculous. Why have these big games on holidays in the most populous city in the US? Traffic, logistics, family commitments. It is all bad when combined with football on that day for season ticket holders.
You actually do bring up a good point. I'm sure a lot of people will be traveling on Christmas eve, especially earlier in the day and to schedule the game at 1 is just stupid. It doesn't affect me unless of course I were to get stuck in traffic before the game.
So? Put another game on national TV. Jets season ticket holders had their logistical nightmare last year on Thanksgiving. Now we need to go through it again on Christmas Eve. I had enough of home games on holidays. The Jets should not have a home game on Christmas Eve this year after last year's Thanksgiving debacle. Enough already. The NFL is national sport and people will watch any two teams that are good. The Jets should have been on the road on 12/24.
If the Jets fancy themselves a big team Super Bowl contending team that portion of the schedule is not going to be a problem.
We won't know until the full schedule is officially released, but I think most of the teams are playing on 12/24. Maybe there will be a game on Christmas night. I am assuming there will be a game on Monday December 26th. It looks like 14 or 15 teams will host a game on the 24th. What could the NFL do here outside of giving every team a bye that week?
I hate that I have fucking class at 7, Knicks game, Rangers Game, Jets Schedule release but nooo I gotta sit in a boring class for 3 hours...
All the games Xmas weekend are Xmas Eve day, that Saturday. No games on Sunday so what's the big deal if its Jets/Giants. Either way, both teams are playing that day? Fatcesa is an a-hole
Many people are going to have off from work on Friday, 12/23. That week is going to be a short one and there will be far less build-up and intrigue during the week. Whenever Christmas falls on a weekend it makes for a shitty week in a football sense.
Your just repeating Francesa, get an original thought. I don't need buildup, its gonna be a fun day, I am off the whole next week and we are going to end the Giants season. Tell your buddy Fatcesca to go stuff it.
