I gave up listening to him after the Edwards DWI, and my life has been better because of it. Have not even put it on once in almost a year. Even when Rex was on. I still check this thread to see what nonsense is going on every now and then, but it is a lot less aggravating.
Francesa is more fair to the Jets after a loss. When they win he's just extra upset because he can't stand Rex and all the fans when they win. When they lose he's extra happy that day and he does the show in a good mood. Is it just me or do people evaluate the Jets like they're supposed to be the perfect team? I watch the Jets post game yesterday and Adam Schein is acting like the Jets are in huge trouble. I know we have high expectations but what team plays perfect in all phases every week? If the Jets don't do that they're criticized to no end like they're in big trouble. It went on last year too. The Pats two victories have been far from perfect. 2 mediocre defense performances. The Jets two victories haven't been perfect either. Lots to improve. But they WON the football game. The Jets don't have to be really good in every phase to win the game.
Agreed. Why does he care? He makes plenty of money 1-2 Million per annum, works like 5 hours a day if you can call it work talking about sports which he loves to do. What's his problem?
if the giants win tomorrow they better get criticized by Tank unless eli throws for 300, has a QB rating over 100, has no more then 1 turnover. the giant defense holds bradford under 200 yards and the Rams rushing attack under 80. the special teams is spot on for a change. needs to be a 30-7 type win.
Completely agree. I'm actually surprised Francesa doesn't like Rex, both go back to the old NFC East battles that Mike loves to talk about so much. Rex even gave the famous "not here to kiss Belichick's rings" quote on Francesa's show in the beginning. The ax to grind is clearly Mike's, dating back to the Jets closing out his beloved Giants Stadium in style instead of the Giants.
Not sure what 1050 thing you mean. They've been the Jets station since 2002 so they've had more access to the Jets since then, but WFAN and Mike always got guys on too.
The exclusivity thing. Was it before or after Mike's asinine rant after the Jets beat the Colts in '09?
Had to be after his rant, Rex was on his show before the 2009 season when he made the Belichick quote. Mike lost his mind after the Week 16 Colts game and then being holed up at channel 4 all night watching the stadium finale/celebration after his beloved blue shit the bed.
haha that was hilarious, it was the only 2 minutes I listened to today. "Mike just please let me make a point, jesus" hangs up "No you cannot make a point"
It all started back when Rex was still with the Ravens. Mike and Rex were at a party, there was a table full of desserts, and a tray with only one cannoli left on it. Rex got the jump, and the rest is history.
I gave up in his show when the day after the Jets beat the Patriots in the playoffs last season he talked about Mickey Mantle for like an hour and half. Can't make this stuff up. It may have been the Colts playoff game, one of those.
Not to split hairs but is this correct? I thought it was from Jets news confrence after hiring Rex. I think fatty would love that kind of bravado on his show
