Sanchez can't speak off the year he had. His play is to remain silent and supportive

If for nothing else Rex should have his fat ass fired for not knowing this shit was going on in HIS locker room.
"I didn't have the pulse of this team"? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!!!!!

    BINGO
It's not about being the best team it's about playing your best football at the right time.

It looks WAY worse if he doesn't go on. Then all we hear is how even the Jets GM is refusing to talk to media. Refusing big Mike just opens up a whole can of worms, it's not worth it. All he had to do was give pretty generic answers, like he did, and the interview will be forgotten tomorrow.

Rex has been waiting for some of these guys to step up and take a leadership role for years now. Nobody has. It shouldn't take a veteran who has been in the league since 1993 to do it, or somebody like Tomlinson who has one foot out the door, basically a rental for a few years. It's obvious that right now, Sanchez isn't a leader because he's still struggling. Revis should be one, but he isn't (and his holdout made that very obvious). Right now the Jets players are either selfish, indifferent, or ignored. This team has no identity. At least Rex has been trying to give it one. Players needs to command respect for themselves, otherwise it doesn't matter who your coach is, you're not going to win anything. Does Rex need to have therapy sessions with each player to make sure Holmes doesn't bully them? What is he, a kindergarten teacher?

Edit: Sorry to derail thread, just strongly disagreed with that comment.

Francesa's interview with Tannenbaum was excellent. He's alot better and fairer when the Jets aren't doing well. Loved the part when he told Mr. T enough of the 4 road playoff wins, hanging your hat too much on losing two championship games.

Maybe. The real measure is still the Superbowl. So I don't think the difference would have been as great as you say.

It was a lot of fun to see the Patriots play last year both Belichick and Brady deserved their awards.

This year, it's time for some playoff wins but if they get to the AFCC game and lose it's still an underachieving season.

That's a no-class move on his part. The media is what it is but trying to get somebody on when the odds are 90% you're going to make a train-wreck out of it is in very poor taste.

    I agree.

It's weird, Francesa was asking those questions out of spite and hatred but those were the same questions frustrated and disappointed Jets fans wanted asked.

Of course he's a lot better when the Jets aren't doing well.

So long as his GIANTS are doing better than the JETS, he'll be all Nicey-Nice like that pathetic fat fraud he is.

Yeah thats the way I look at it. No Super Bowl, no success. Thats why I dont understand why Giants fans are so happy with their division title. If they dont win the Super Bowl its all for nothing. It applies to all teams, its a failure imo if you dont win the Super Bowl cuz at the end of the day, no ones going to remember you for division titles.

Kind of goes hand in hand, doesn't it?

Francessa is being nicer about the Jets because they failed, and because the Jets failed, Jet fans have stopped acting arrogant.

If Giant fans are happy with a division title, it's only because the expectations for success were greatly reduced by the number of injuries and the inconsistent play throughout the year.

The happiness is more about the satisfaction of shutting up Rex Ryan and knocking out the Cowboys in consecutive weeks.

Well yeah, I don't know of anybody else in sports media who has less class than he does. Hanging up on callers, talking over the people he interviews, etc.

    Is that what it is?

I think it's more of the Giants being in the playoffs while the JETS aren't and therefore can't steal the headlines anymore.

In Fatcessa's world, the Giants exist and the Jets don't matter. This is like Nirvana for him right now.

See you say that because you won. Making the AFCG two years ago with a rookie quarterback was a success. Last year beating you was a success. Losing for the second year in a row in the championship game sucked. Unfortunately we could not build on the success.

I think alot of you are way off base concerning Francesa being so into the Giants. He was the one going off that Arizona got the game taken away from them on that Cruz play early in the season. He ain't half as into the Giants as alot of you make it... That being said,, he's anti-Jet, no doubt.
