This, and because we don't know what the cap will be, and the Jets have a slew of UFAs, with several of them big time contract UFAs. Signing vet FAs "cheaply" isn't always possible. The Jets have been good (or lucky) with UDFAs so far, but you can't count on those types. Tanny has to start holding onto and using those mid and low-round picks well.
BUMP The reason for the bump is to stroke my own ego, kind of. I was looking at the Titans defense and I noticed that Karl Klug has 4 sacks and 2 forced fumbles to go along with 17 tackles. I had mentioned him in this thread as a potential late round gem. He went in the 5th.
I know you are coming to the defense of Mcknight here, and he deserves your defense, just not right now. But Kerley on the other hand could use some... sh*t happens:breakdance:
His sacks are coverage sacks. His last one vs. buffalo happened bc Fitz stepped up in the pocket after a few seconds bc of coverage and an edge rush and Klug managed to still be at the LOS bc he didnt create push himself and came up with his 4th sack.
All rookies whould be judged solely on thier biggest error. Never mind the fact that he has become a young blooming slot receiver, has been good on returns up untill that point, no lets hang him for one mistake. :breakdance:
Relax fellas. Next time I'll add a <wink> to my post. A joke intended as a dig to Lon Chaney that clearly went over like a fart in church.
Granted, I haven't seen him play a down this year. But it's still impressive to have 4 sacks and 2 FF as an interior lineman, especially a rookie 5th rounder.
