Who do you guys see as a trading option at the deadline? At pitching, I see Jeff Francis as an option, an upcoming FA as pitching depth. I also hope Theo goes after Beltran, that would make our lineup just phenomenal. We'll see.
I saw it. I put the game on 25 minutes ago because I am up .214 to .212 in batting average and down 3-4 in home runs and I have Zobrist in action. I need him to not make another out. If he hit a homer it would be great.
Odd decision to not pinch-run for Ortiz until he got to second. Ortiz walked, Francona left him on base. Then after McDonald walked to load the bases and put Ortiz on second, Francona then pinch-ran. I guess he figured it's a better chance now that he wouldn't need Ortiz in future innings (because the odds of scoring are higher)?
He does that all the time. He waits until he's in scoring position before running for him. Not really sure why.
Second time I thought a Boston hitter swung and the ump ruled a check swing with 2 strikes. First with Ellsbury, now with Reddick. Works for me. But Reddick strikes out on the next pitch anyway. Bases loaded, 1 out. Maddon making another pitching change.
Well, I've been watching since this began at 8:10. Took over 5 and a half hours for a run to be scored. Pedroia RBI single in the 16th.
Josh has been an absolute beast this year, also the issue with Beltran is that he will be on the D/L within the next month more than likley. But I would let Reddick/Kalish take over right field and tell Drew to join the fucking Peace Corp or something cause that guy sucks. Everytime I watch a game my wife is like yeah I know fuck J.D. Drew...man I can not stand that guy....What a freakin waste of 14 million dollars....maybe we could trade him to the Yanks for Posada?
I love Reddick. I saw him hit a HR at Pawtucket this year and he has been solid since being called up. I would be pissed if Drew is in RF tonight instead of Reddick with Crawford coming back
Reddick is good. I don't really think Boston needs another OF. Crawford, Ellsbury, Reddick, Drew. They just need Crawford to come back healthy. McDonald as righty off the bench.
Reddick isn't that good. He hasn't hit .300 since A ball, and is hitting about .250 in July with a .325 OBP. He got off to a hot start, but the best thing he could do for this team long term is get traded while his value is up.
Thats the biggest surprise to me for the Sox this year, yes Josh and Ortiz have been great but Ells is on freaking fire. Its a great time to be a Sox fan.
