St Louis needs help almost everywhere. Tate was a good choice Danny Amendola doesn't put the fear of God in most DBs.
I think we'll really hit a stride here today. Sundays are always big days for these mocks, especially during the afternoons, no one really has anything to do. And we're just Bakermaker away from having the next 5 GMs all on-line.
Can't believe no one picked up Benn. The BPA were all DTs which we didn't need... thought about going CB but there is good depth and someone will be there in the 3rd. Stafford + Johnson + Benn + Pettigrew is one hell of a high octane passing game! Would've preferred Williams as a prototypical #2 but Benn is good too... In my opinion when you are a rebuilding franchise you always rebuild the D before doing the O... but since Detroit put so many pieces together on O last year I can see them trying to complete the puzzle this year. PS thought about going OT but there really was no one there... plus they already have a RT so what they really needed was a LT prospect and I didn't like the options available...
Benn shoulda been the Ravens' pick. I've read a lot of reports that say Baltimore will take a receiver or two in this draft.
I see your logic....and don't hate the pick at all. Benn has great potential. I just think Detroit's D is in shambles.....from top to bottom (minus L.Delmas and your McCoy pick). Detroit can put up points.....that's not an issue. But they can't stop anybody.
I tend to agree here, that defense needs a lot of help, and there are a few guys that could have really helped sitting on the board. Plus, I think Benn's pretty good, but there are some other wideouts that may have been better fits to play opposite CJ (though having Pettigrew doesn't make them necessary).
And damn Jabba, that's a good damn pick right there, some good luck to have Price fall that far to you. If I had the choice of Berry and Price or Suh/McCoy and any safeties available now, It'd be Berry and Price without question.
their D line is good... Avril, McCoy, Hill is good... they need a RDE but someone will fill in. Their OLBs suck so much. At ILB they have Foote who's good and I have NO IDEA why they drafted another ILB last year... you've got a player that's won SBs with the Steelers who actually WANTS to play for Detroit and you pick a replacement for him!? Stupid GM. They really need CBs... IMO they really screwed up the 3rd round picks last year. No way in hell DeAndre Levy and D. Williams were the BPA or at a position of need... that just shows you how inept the Lions FO is...
I'm wondering if Matt Millen hacked into Mambo's account and made the pick for him. just kidding, Mambo.
Love the Price pick to bad he wasn't a position of need for the Lions otherwise it would've been a bargain!
Hehe... just like us Jets fan go into panic mode when we pick a TE I can imagine Lions fans shooting themselves for yet another WR ! The funny fact is that even if they spent the last decade drafting Wrs... except for CJ their WR sucks big time! B. Johnson is a 4th reciever at best, D. Williams isn't that much of a prospect... maybe he'll be a good slot, Northcutt is 1'000 years old and Fowler I have no idea who he is! That is one bad WR corp. Hopefully having Benn on the field frees up CJ a bit more. They are also the unluckiest team ever, K. Smith is out with every part of his body broken and Pettigrew teared a ligament. That's bad luck!
KC's D just got their Dline anchor for the next 6-10 years....excellent pick, WW....let's hope he stays away from the Big Macs and twinkies.
Another great pick for Jabba with Price, he could go around 20. I agree with the people above that the Berry/Price combo is better than McCoy/2nd round safety for the Bucs.
Thanks Cane, I'm very happy with the way this unfolded for the Bucs. I really wanted one of those DT's at the top of the board, but once they got snatched I had to take the BAP and hope someone like Price would still be there for me in round two. Needless to say it worked out just fine.
