No worries, man. I thought you had some sort of short term memory loss or something. HAHA... Getting Derrick Morgan this late is a steal. Nice pick.
I purposely listed OL before QB because I felt that was the biggest need for that team. I could see a WR especially if they decline (as they probably should) re-signing T.O., but with Lee Evans still on the roster I think the other 2 positions are bigger needs. Of course Gailey could decide the sign his old GT QB Reggie ball to lead the Bill!
Thanks E, and DE is Tennesee's biggest need going into this draft as well, so this was an ideal scenario where the value and the need were one and the same BTW, I love Earl Thomas .. love him
I know that, WW, I just want you to know for future reference, I might take some time to research and make a decision after I post that I'm here, but once I'm here you can rest assured I will never leave until the pick has been made
Derrick Morgan at 17 was a big steal IMO. He was one of 3 guys I strongly considered for the Raiders (along with Bradford and Anthony Davis).
I had a hard time deciding between JPP and Morgan at 11 for the Broncos. I think Morgan is more NFL ready at this point, but I believe that JPP will be an absolute beast when he gets a few years experience.
Pierre-Paul fits into the 3-4, and Derrick Morgan doesn't. I liked the JPP pick, and I think he's going to fly up the boards after the combine - he's a physical freak.
So I stick to my conviction that Wilson blows up the Senior Bowl (which I can't watch right now) and the Combine and gets into the top 20 by being selected at 19. The only thing the Texans need is a playmaking corner who can stay healthy and who works hard.
Yea, I also figured that even though Morgan is highly talented, he might be better fit as a 4-3 DE. It would be too much to ask him to change his game dramtically just to fit a defensive scheme that he isn't fit for. JPP just made more sense for the Broncos and their future in the 3-4.
JPP was an excellent pick I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping he would fall to the Titans because I like his upside even more than Morgan's. I'm happy with Morgan and the value at 17, but if I had my choice I would have taken JPP too, so I think you made the right call.
I had to go with Graham here. While Green Bay's offensive line needs help, none of the tackles I wanted were available and there will be tackles available in the next few rounds who aren't much worse than what is left right now. Green Bay's GM loves flashy on-a-whim BPA picks, and Graham fits the mold perfectly. Graham will bring Green Bay's defense to the next level - all they need to do to preserve that dominance for future years is to start grooming a young corner back.
Everson Griffen was my 1st choice...Falcons picked him up a few picks before my Eagles. Carlos Dunlap was too good of a value to pass up in late rd 1. Eagles need a DE and Dunlap could fit into their defense.
I don't understand the Ravens' pick. Jared Gaither and Michael Oher are both very solid, young tackles.
The pick is simple, I took the BAP. The Ravens only need two starting tackles but they still need five starters on the line. It is alot easier to move a tackle inside to play guard than the other way around. It also helps to have a guard that can play tackle in the event of injury.
Yeah but they need WR help big time and there is someone available who could possibly get taken and start day 1 for BAL. 2 guys could be the choice even. Mason could retire again and it would leave BAL in an ugly spot.
The Ravens offensive line is pretty good though, and young. Jared Gaither is 6'9 - so, he wouldn't move to guard. He and Michael Oher will likely switch positions - with Oher protecting...the blind side...Trent Williams lacks a powerful punch, so I don't know if he'd be able to make a move to guard either. Ben Grubbs is one of their starting guards, and he's a former first rounder. Marshal Yanda is their other guard, and he's actually been very good too. Joe Flacco has horrible pocket awareness and takes a lot of sacks - he holds on to the ball WAY too long. I agree it would be a good depth pick if Gaither or Oher went down, but they have more pressing needs. Especially when the Ravens took Oniel Cousins in the third round two years ago as a depth tackle. Williams may have been your BPA, but he definitely wasn't mine - especially for a team like the Ravens, that lacks offensive firepower. I would've gone receiver or tight end - there's plenty of talent at both positions available. The Ravens brought in Jim Zorn to be their QB coach, so I'm pretty sure they're going to focus on drafting/building around Flacco.
I have more draft picks, reaching for a WR didn't make much sense. I would have gone in a different direction if Williams didn't drop into my lap anyway. I would have considered the TE (Gresham) but someone already took him. When Birk retires, his replacement will have to move from guard to center. If they have to replace one of their guards, why not a potential pro bowler that can also back up either tackle position. Protecting Flacco and opening holes for the RBs is more important than adding a WR.
