I used to support the Giants to an extent....but their fans are douche bags and the team is full of assholes.

I can't bring myself to do it anymore.

Phillips isn't THAT bad. He at least contributes to the defense. The problem is, he should be a D coordinator and nothing more. He doesn't have the leadership qualities to be a head coach.

Still, at least he has something to offer for one side of the ball, which is more than some coaches in the league. What they need is a disciplinarian who will let Garrett run the offense and Phillips run the defense.

The original rule was put in place because Smith used to take his helmet off after every big play and there were a ton running behind that line..

Looking at Carolina, San Francisco and Arizona I'd have to disagree with you

I guess it may be relative. Seems like in today's game you need a legitimately good QB that can make plays to consistently win games, a running game by itself doesn't really seem to do much anymore. So while on the average QB play may be better than it was it's probably tougher to win with a mediocre QB.

I agree. I've been lucky to know giant fans that like the jets, but most don't and after the fireman Ed pushing, I've changed my stance on the giants. They're douchey.

If we're going to share a stadium, learn to like your neighbor.

Yes, the rule was nicknamed the Emmitt Smith Rule because of his constant removal of his helmet to showboat. Keyshawn Johnson throwing his helmet off after his first career TD was probably the final straw. The rule went in the book the following offseason.

There are never 32 good QBs in the league. That's not how football works.

I might not have been clear enough. If so, then my fault.

What I meant was that, in my opinion, there are a higher percentage of teams with good quarterbacks in 2010 then there were in most other years since '76.

A couple years ago I created a thread for this topic. I compared the regular 1977 starters to the 2007 ones (or I looked at 1978 and 2008). I was being as fair as possible and I found for the more recent year. I think the QB situation in the league has only gotten better in the past 2 or 3 years.

Manningham is huge whenever he gets the ball. He's a bigger threat than Smith.

I agree, Philips could be a great coordinator.

He just doesn't have what it takes to be a Head Coach, like Norv Turner.

I know you obviously know this, that was my point though....Philips sucks as a head coach, despite knowing football....it's more than that for that position.

The 2010 Cowboys = epic fail (provided this game goes exactly the way we think it will)

I've been saying this forever. Both should be unemployed by week 10.

If you put it that way then I'd agree with you, I was mildly surprised to find only 3 teams with complete garbage at QB, I'll give Colt McCoy the benefit of a doubt, and when you consider Philly has 2 that could be starters.

Although it will be interesting if that percentage will go down as more college teams switch to the spread offense.
