Moronic helmet-to-helmet tackle by Samuel. When are these guys going to accept that you can't do that any more? He could have blown up Hagan easily with a tackle to the chest, and instead gives the Giants 15 yards and a first down.
I guess Collinsworth missed the helmet to helmet hit that knocked Hobbs out. Looked like Hobbs was knocked out before he even hit the ground. Scary hit. Hopefully Hobbs at least moves his legs. They're still crossed from when he went down. Scary.
Ellis Hobbs just got knocked the Fuck out. hopefully he is alright, the way his neck retracts is just scary. Hopefully he is going to be alright. that was head to head no doubt. But the giants ST did not get flagged for it. horrible. As I type the cart is being brought out and we can only hope he is going to be alright. But collinsworth has noted he moved during the break.
acording to collinsworth, that helmet to helmet is legal because Hobbs isn't "defenseless" fuck that, head to head should either be fully allowed, or fully outlawed. One way or the other. If you want player safety, then try and outlaw the whole thing. Hobbs is moving for sure now.
wow, this is like a 10 minute break in action. I'm wondering why they don't just put him on the stretcher/board, like they usually do. they said he's had a previous neck injury, making this even scarier. they just went to ads for the third time.
The part of Football I hate................ I hope Hobbs is ok. He is I think, just knocked out cold.
definately lights out the second his neck got crunched. he flopped straight down and dropped the ball instantly. You could definately tell when he landed how his left arm was propped up with his hand upside down. It was an incredibly awkward position. Best of luck to Ellis Hobbs. Clearly whatever precautionary measures are being used the best news is that Hobbs is not paralyzed. Beyond that, we have no idea. collinsworth reiterating it was a legal hit...
"that was not an illegal hit. It was a ballcarrier in the open field" then he says "people should quit arguing about it", referring to the fines and suspensions. Shut up, Cris.
how dare collinsworth talk about the league trying to protect players in the same breath that he's saying for the 10th time what a clean and legal hit that was? world class scumbag.
No you are wrong. All situations are not the same. When you are talking about a defenseless receiver and a DB flying head first into his helmet - that is a penalty. But with runners trying to bull their way down the field, you cannot call hemet to helmet in situations like that. You also cannot call it on the line of scrimmage where everybody is knocking heads on every play. Helmet to helmet contact is a normal part of football but in some situations where it is avoidable it is a penalty. In this case it was a legal hit. Collingsworth was correct - but i still can't stand him.
idiot eagles DB bails out the giants on a hail mary they really have played a disgusting game, the giants should be down by 30.
Seriously, the Eagles dropped 2 wide open passes in the end zone and then that stupid ass play handed the Giants 7 points
I don't think that the rule is that clear, H2H is only illegal in certain circumstances where its is unnecessary and where a player is defenseless. Hobbs wasn't defenseless, he was running with the ball, lowered his head and the defender made a play and they collided - thats just football. Its pretty much impossible to eliminate H2H in football since players are banging heads on every single play.
