Not sure which fight you are talking about since there hasn't been a major show since January 1, but you are not allowed to sucker-punch people. You can ground and pound, but there are rules such as no kicks to a downed opponent, no punching behind the head, no down elbows to a downed opponent, etc.. It's not as barbaric as people think. As for boxing v. MMA. Every boxer would lose against an MMA fighter. James Toney tried and got destroyed by Randy Couture. As for MMA fighters against boxers, a lot of guys have Kickboxing or boxing backgrounds, and many others just have great chins, so I dont think it is as automatic as you think.
That's called Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. Your talking about the Pallharres-Nate Marquardt fight. The guy stopped to look at the ref, Your not suppose too do that shit, Your in a fight you cant stop to look at the ref, The guy wasn't greased anyway. An on your other point, What about a K-1 Kickboxer or Muay-thai fighter against a boxer ??? Can a boxer deal with knee's and head kicks ? MMA Fighters can box aswell, How will a boxer who stands for 12 rounds deal with takedowns and submissions and head kicks? He would lose in MMA in probably about 2 minutes. Boxing isn't fighting it's Punching. The other is actually Fighting.
See there's the rub. According to Chubby, he was offered Ryan back in November and turned him down. There's only one problem with Mike's claim that the Jets pulled their players from his show specifically, at the behest of ESPN. It didn't happen, and he said as much. That story of his only came about weeks after Mike admitted the "Jets pulled their players from my show because they were mad at me, because they didn't like what I had to say about them." He said this. Go back in this thread about 200 pages and you will see us all comment on it. Mike seems to think that because WFAN doesn't record his broadcasts, no one else can. Then Mike went with a story that ESPN had asked the Jets to pull players from WFAN for the playoffs last year, so ESPN would have them exclusive, being their broadcast partner. Trouble is, that didn't happen either, and Jerricho Cotchery continued in his weekly spot with Joe and Evan, and Boomer and Carton continued to get players. Then it became another story, which Mike helped by giving his buddy Neil Best quotes for a story in Newsday, that the JETS decided to pull their players FROM MIKE'S Show to injure him for his harsh treatment of the team, and only give players to Michael Kay, his rival. Trouble there is, Mike followed up and said the Jets have offerered him players and Rex, have olive branched out, wherein Captain Integrity told the Jets "not thanks". But that didn't happen either. The first one did. He was unbelievably harsh with the Jets (see the post on de moon rant) and that pissed Jets management off, so when Mike asked for players or coaches after that, they told him, no. Too bad. As is their right to do. Has he been more fair this week? Sure. I guess. He is so out of control it doesn't matter. The story here is, potentially, the number 1 sports show in sports talk radio in NY, in the biggest city in the world, with a LOCAL Team as a participant in the game, will not have ONE LOCAL coach or player on for an interview THE WEEK OF THE SUPERBOWL. Where else would this happen? What other sportsmeglomaniac would ALLOW this to happen?
Word...I'd probably like it more if they shortened the rounds and cut down on the rolling around on the ground.
Too each there own but check this.
So...Beating that same team, IN THEIR BUILDING as 9 point underdogs, is a lesser feat, because we had to beat them as divisional opponents?
Francessa had designs on being General Manager? For real? That's crazy! Does anyone know more about this?
