Revis got pushed to the ground. Did he mention Harvin was lucky not to get called for offensive pass int?
Francesa says if the Jets played the Vikings a month from now it could be a different a result. uh duhh...and if the Vikings play the Jets with a 100% Revis and with Holmes on the same page... I admit he is giving them fair credit and he admits they're a good team and top 3-4 in the AFC but he still tweaks them. It's always about gettin lucky, blah... how about the jets? they dropped about 5 passes. sanchez missed about 5 passes. the vikings were extremely lucky it wasn't 24-0 at one point.
We did get lucky on that pass because we should have put the game away earlier. Francesa is going to nitpick because there was plenty to nitpick.
that's on defense. that's what revis does so well. he bumps the receiver for the first 5 yards. i'm pretty sure you can't just push someone off of you.
A couple of points stimulated by Fatcessa's comments: #1. Jet pass rush was in Favre's face on the "missed" pass to Harvin, so it was not an "unforced error" as Francessa called it. Just like the pressure was also on Favre on the pick to Lowery. #2 Very valid assessment from Francessa that Rex's 3rd and long blitz routine IS NOT WORKING. Teams are protecting against it and we are giving up way too many long plays on 3rd and long. We need to mix that up and make some adjustments. We would have been much better off with some traditional dual safety double teams on Harvin/Moss in the 4th qtr on the 3rd and longs. #3 The 2008 and 2009 Jets would have lost this game. Nice to see the Jets with the wherewithal to win when Sanchez/Edwards/Holmes/Defense were not at their best.
Junc, This running joke more has to with the fact that Francesa refused to say the Jets "have a big time defense" last season, even when the Jets had the number #1 defense on paper. It's an indictment of his Jets hate in general. I'd agree that our defense right now is not as good as it was last year.
In regards to number 2 i agree, the issue is favre was using a fake count to see teh blitz and get proteciton. it only works when teams don't know where its coming from

The way he talks about the Jets he makes it sound like we're the team that beat the Bears, Texans and Panthers but were obliterated by the only two real teams they played.... oh wait. Hmm the Jets have beaten 3 teams that are going to be in the playoff hunt and the Giants have beaten....... 1 possibly two.
Last year we gradually worked our way to #1. We were not #1 from the start or after just 5 games. As Rex would say, we'll see where we end up in the end.
Francessa is a douchebag, but I honestly have no problem with what he said today. Our defense was totally reeling last night, and we were very fortunate to escape with the win. I'm getting a little sick of watching teams convert these 3rd and forever passes against us for TD's. Rex needs to make some serious adjustments with these constant 3rd down blitzes, because sooner or later we're going to give up a game winning TD in the last 30 seconds. You can see it coming a mile away. The way the Vikings scored on us after the Greene run was an embarassment. He's right ... Your offense just scored what should have been a nail-in-the-coffin TD. Now go make a goddamn stop on defense, take a few knees and get out with a 22-13 win. Instead, we let them go down the field and score on us in about 11 seconds. Of course I'm glad we won, but holding on for dear life with a pick-6 is totally ridiculous.
i listened for 5 minutes today. he sits there focussing almost exclusively on every negative element of the game that he can and makes shit up as well. Refuses to recognize the numerous positives coming out of the game. He is a douchbag.
It's clear the Jets are the second tier team in New York. Francesa has convinced me that the Giants are dominant, and the Jets are pedestrian, at best.
THIS! I always hate the "luck" argument when discussing football, when so much of what happens thru 60 minutes of play can be called "luck." Why not just call it football. We got lucky Harvin doesn't catch it, he got lucky Revis fell. We can play the luck what if game all day. It's pointless.
Oh, no, he never said that. At least that's what he'll say now. But Tomlinson (not the real LT...the real LT is a Giant and a flawless human being) is all smoke and mirrors, anyway. He's shot.
